🌺 June Yogis of the Month! 🌺
This month we’re featuring not one but TWO Yogis of the Month, Andrea Drum and Nev Drummond, sisters who almost never miss a class together! We chose to highlight them both because of the way they consistently show up and support each other in practice, something that reflects the heart of our community ✌️
1) What would you tell someone who feels intimidated to try yoga?
✨ Andrea
I’d tell them that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, flexibility, fitness level, or experience. Nobody walks into their first class knowing everything. The most important thing is simply showing up with an open mind and giving yourself permission to learn at your own pace.
✨ Nev
I’d say to just start where you’re at. For the longest time, I kept telling myself I would start doing yoga once I got to a certain weight or after I had been going to the gym for a certain amount of time, but those were really just excuses. The wonderful thing about yoga is that you can do it at any size 💗. Now that I’ve been going for a while, I can say that I’m so glad that I finally just took a leap of faith 😊.

2) What do you enjoy most about practicing in a studio setting?
✨ Andrea
I enjoy the focused atmosphere and sense of presence that comes from practicing in a dedicated space. It’s easier to disconnect from daily distractions, follow the guidance of an instructor, and feel supported by the energy of the people around me.
✨ Nev
Having a designated place to practice yoga has really helped with shutting out any outside distractions. I feel like just the act of going to the studio puts me in the right headspace and gives me something to look forward to. It’s the one hour of my day where I can fully forget my responsibilities and completely focus on myself ❤️.

3) How has your yoga practice supported you in everyday life?
✨ Andrea
Yoga has helped me become more mindful, patient, and resilient. It gives me tools to manage stress, stay connected to my body, and approach challenges with a calmer and more balanced perspective.
It has also made a huge difference in my work as a photographer, especially during long wedding days. I used to deal with sore joints and swollen ankles after spending hours on my feet, but since starting yoga, those issues have been greatly minimized. I feel stronger, more mobile, and able to keep up with the physical demands of the job much more comfortably.
✨ Nev
I initially started practicing yoga as a way to help with my back pain, and I honestly notice such a big difference when I go to class compared to when I don’t. It’s incredible how helpful it has been 😊. I love that it’s slowly become one of my favorite parts of my routine.
⸻
4) What’s your favorite part about coming to yoga together?
✨ Andrea
My favorite part is sharing the experience and encouraging each other along the way. Practicing together creates a sense of connection and accountability, and it’s rewarding to grow, learn, and celebrate progress as a team.
✨ Nev
It’s been a great way to hold each other accountable 😊. When one of us isn’t feeling 100%, we can give each other the encouragement or boost of energy we need for that day.

We’re so grateful to have Andrea and Nev as part of our yoga family! 🤍
