June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month.
And at PHCS, we want to use this month to say something that most families in Greenville, Mauldin, Greenwood, Clemson, and Central never hear clearly enough:
**What you are noticing is not nothing.**
The grocery rotting in the fridge. The same question asked three times in one conversation. The bill that did not get paid, from the parent who never missed a payment in forty years. The phone call where something felt off but you could not name it.
Those are not random incidents. They are a pattern. And patterns like these are worth paying attention to -- not to alarm you, but to prepare you.
This month, we are posting about the early signs of cognitive decline, what they mean, and what families can do when they start seeing them. Not because we want you to be afraid. Because we want you to be informed.
The families who reach out to us earliest -- before a crisis, before a fall, before something goes wrong that cannot be undone -- are the ones who tell us later: "I am so glad we did not wait."
If you are starting to notice things about your parent in Greenville, Mauldin, Greenwood, Clemson, or Central, this month is for you.
Follow along this week. And when you are ready to talk, we are here.
