Every community is impacted by behavioral health crises, with American Indian communities being at especially high risk. This training will review lessons learned from addressing, training, and responding to crises across checkerboard Native communities in Oklahoma and reservation communities beyond. Best practices will be shared from juvenile justice, adult justice system, school-based, higher education, military, the workplace, and isolated communities—where American Indian people are present—and how supporting tribal communities' benefits all. Also covered: cultural adaptation in system and individual response, utilizing lived experience in enhancing practice, and building capacity among non-behavioral health professionals to be good relatives, helpers, and caregivers in Indian Country.

This webinar is part of a monthly series supported by SAMHSA. Past webinars are available at OpioidResponseNetwork.org/TOR.
