September is World Alzheimer's Month, and this year's theme is "The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do." A proper dementia diagnosis can help a person and their family take steps to get medical treatment and begin learning how to support their loved one. Alzheimer's is one form of dementia with several subtypes now identified. More can be done today than even five years ago, so early diagnosis matters. See your doctor if you're having issues remembering that are affecting your life.

What are your plans for the holiday weekend? If you're doing some driving, remember to watch your speed and drive defensively, not aggressively. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Consider leaving earlier than necessary to avoid afternoon traffic. We all want to get to our festivities safely.
