Happy National Friendship Day! 💙

Today our residents celebrated the special bonds of friendship by creating handmade friendship bracelets and keychains. Whether they were made for a fellow resident, a favorite staff member, or someone special, each creation was filled with kindness and thoughtfulness.

Activities like these are about so much more than crafting—they’re an opportunity to express appreciation, strengthen friendships, and spread smiles throughout our Fisher family. It was heartwarming to see the joy on everyone’s faces as they created meaningful keepsakes to share with others.

🎉 Family Bingo was a wonderful success! 🎉

What an incredible turnout! Seeing our residents surrounded by family, laughter, and friendly competition is what these afternoons are all about. The time spent together means more than words can express, and the smiles shared across the bingo tables are memories we’ll all cherish.

For residents whose loved ones aren’t able to attend, we’d love a little help from our community.

If you’ve ever considered volunteering, Family Bingo is a wonderful place to start. Simply come to one of our remaining Family Bingo dates this year, and we’ll pair you with a resident for the afternoon. Not only will you help them earn points for our monthly Bingo Store, but even more importantly, you’ll give them the gift of companionship, conversation, and a fun afternoon together. Sometimes, a shared bingo card and a little encouragement can make someone’s entire day.

We hope you’ll consider joining us at one of our upcoming Family Bingo events. There’s always room for one more at the table, and we’d love to welcome you!

Sometimes the simplest games create the biggest smiles! 🎉

Residents put their skills to the test with a fun round of Twister Penny Toss, competing for a variety of prizes including sweet treats, auction bucks, and the hottest item of the day—markers! Auction bucks and markers were quickly claimed, with many residents excited to use the markers as their own personal bingo daubers or to share with their grandchildren.

This game may look easy, but it’s surprisingly challenging, making every prize feel well earned. The best part of the afternoon was watching residents cheer each other on and celebrate one another’s victories. It’s moments like these that remind us a little friendly competition and encouragement can bring so much joy!

For this month’s travel series, our residents explored Williamsburg, Virginia—discovering the rich history of America’s original colonies. Along the way, they learned about colonial life, the crops traditionally grown in the region, and some of the foods that have become part of its rich heritage.

Our monthly travel series is about so much more than visiting new places. For residents who once loved to travel, it offers a chance to revisit favorite memories and experience new destinations from the comfort of home. It also provides meaningful opportunities for lifelong learning, encouraging curiosity, conversation, and the joy of discovering something new together.

🏇 Off to the races! 🏇

They’re off! Residents had a blast placing their bets, cheering on their favorite horses, and seeing who would cross the finish line first. Every winner earned some auction bucks for the Fisher Auction making the excitement even sweeter!

Horse racing is always one of our most anticipated activities. For many, it brings back fond memories of trips to the racetrack or the thrill of making a friendly wager, while for others it’s simply a fun way to enjoy a little competition, plenty of laughs, and lots of cheering with friends.

Today we gathered to honor our monthly birthdays with delicious cake, wonderful company, and live music from Gary. 🎶 His music always gets toes tapping, hands clapping, and smiles shining bright!

🍷🧀 National Wine & Cheese Day 🧀🍷

What better way to celebrate than with a little wine, delicious cheeses, and great company? Our residents enjoyed their favorite wine paired with a variety of tasty cheeses while sharing laughs and conversation together.

We wrapped up the evening outdoors, soaking up the beautiful weather, listening to music, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Sometimes it’s the simple moments that make the best memories.

This weekend marks Nurse Tammy’s final shifts with us as she begins her well-earned retirement.

Tammy has been a dedicated, hardworking member of our team who was always willing to step up, pick up an extra shift, and lend a helping hand whenever needed. She brought not only exceptional care to our residents, but also a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor that could always brighten the day and keep everyone smiling.

We have been incredibly fortunate to have Tammy as part of our Fisher family for so many years. Her compassion, dedication, and fun-loving spirit will truly be missed.

Congratulations, Tammy, on your retirement! Thank you for everything you’ve done. We wish you all the happiness, relaxation, and joy this next chapter has to offer. Enjoy every minute—you’ve certainly earned it!
