Mrs. Reed is the first patient at Premier Medical Associates enrolled in Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) for her blood pressure 🙌🏻

RPM allows Mrs. Reed to check her blood pressure at home using a connected blood pressure monitor. Her readings are transmitted electronically to the medical office, where the care team can review them.

If a blood pressure reading is outside the parameters set by the doctor, the system can notify the medical team so they can review the reading and determine whether Mrs. Reed needs to be contacted or receive additional care.

In simple terms, RPM helps the doctors keep track of Mrs. Reed’s blood pressure between office visits and identify potentially concerning readings sooner.

What is a FibroScan?
FibroScan® is a non-invasive, painless test that evaluates the health of your liver by measuring liver stiffness & in many cases, the amount of fat in the liver. It uses gentle vibrations & ultrasound technology—no needles, no sedation & no surgery.

What can a FibroScan help with?

FibroScan® can help your healthcare provider:

• Assess liver stiffness, which may indicate liver fibrosis or scarring
• Detect and monitor fat accumulation in the liver
• Evaluate patients with conditions that may affect liver health
• Monitor liver disease over time and help guide appropriate medical care

Who may benefit from a FibroScan?

Your healthcare provider may recommend a FibroScan if you have risk factors or conditions such as:

• Fatty liver disease

We are excited to welcome Eva Almazan, PA-C to Premier Medical Associates!

Eva Almazan, PA-C, joins our medical team with a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care. A proud graduate of South Texas Health Professions High School, Eva began her healthcare journey early with a strong dedication to serving the community and improving patient health outcomes.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Medical Spanish from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, strengthening her ability to provide culturally sensitive care and effective communication with patients throughout the community. Eva also earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, further advancing her clinical training and commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare.

Eva will be assisting in providing comprehensive primary care and weight management services while working closely with our providers to deliver personalized, high-quality care to every patient.
We are proud to continue growing our team to better serve our patients and community. Appointments with Eva Almazan, PA-C, are now available.
