In Loving Memory of Nelda Potter
Nelda Potter, beloved wife of Alvin Potter, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the loved ones who meant so much to her.

Nelda’s life was one of love, family, and cherished memories. She leaves behind six grandchildren who brought great joy and love into her life: Travis, Ty, Tripp, Bailey, Samantha, and Cameron, Andrea & Sandra. 6 great grandchildren Caleb, Kennedi, Sienna, Leah and coming soon Arabella & (TBA).

Nelda left behind her son, Tim Potter, and his wife, Fany Potter, as well as her daughter, Jody Potter.

Though our hearts are heavy with the loss of Nelda, we can find comfort knowing she was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments. Her memory will live on through her family, the stories they share, and the love she gave so freely.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest peacefully, Nelda. Your love will remain with us always.

Irene Stephan, 64, of McAllen, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2026.

Irene was born Yumiko Sasaki in Kawasaki, Japan, on February 21st, 1962. She was later adopted and given the name Irene, the name she was known by for the rest of her life. She eventually made McAllen, Texas, her home, where she built a life full of family, movement, and connection.

Irene was resilient and never backed down from anything. She always put her children first. She attended every practice and every competition and was a constant presence in her daughter Brittany's cheerleading, and she supported and encouraged her son's musical talents, always championing her children's endeavors.

Irene was social and full of energy, always up for a conversation and rarely sitting still. She enjoyed staying active throughout her life through fitness, ballet, and dance.

She trained in Japanese dance from a young age and once performed for the Emperor of Japan, one of the youngest dancers ever chosen for the honor.

Irene built a career as a fitness manager and later worked in property management, bringing that same drive to everything she did.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark Stephan and Takako Stephan. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Rios; her son, Ronnie Mark Rios; and her daughter, Brittany Brooke Rios.

A visitation will be held at Kreidler Funeral Home on August 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Irene's life.

Viola Maria Dierlam, 78, of Edinburg, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those whose lives she touched.

Viola was born on July 20, 1948, in Edinburg, Texas, to the late Octavio and Maria Ponce. She was raised in Edinburg, where she attended Edinburg High School and graduated in May 1967. Her love of art and creativity led her to Pan American College, where she earned her degree in Art.

Viola began her professional career with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District, where she devoted herself to educating and inspiring young people as an art teacher. Teaching was more than a career for Viola—it was an opportunity to share her creativity, encourage her students, and leave a lasting impression on the lives of those she taught. Her passion for art and education remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

Viola was also a talented and imaginative artist whose creativity brought her recognition beyond her hometown. On May 9, 1994, she was recognized by Texas Governor Ann Richards for her artistic creation of “Anna La Tejana,” a Longhorn cow constructed from papier-mâché. This accomplishment reflected Viola’s remarkable creativity, talent, and love for Texas.

Above all else, Viola was a devoted mother. Her greatest pride and joy was her son, Jeremiah Beau Dallas Dierlam. She was endlessly proud of him and never missed an opportunity to tell others about her...
