Me: "Since I was a student (1990) we've never given the cord much thought, while waiting for the placental to deliver. So, yeah, I guess we "do" delayed cord clamping.

We’d have forests on every corner, people hugging oak trees like they’re routers, and “plant a tree” would be the hottest tech hack of 2026.

But oxygen?
Lower cortisol?
Better sleep?
Stronger immunity?

Eh… apparently not trending enough.

Meanwhile, the most powerful “biohack” is still free:
Go outside.
Get sunlight in your eyes (the natural kind).
Let your kids get dirty.
Stand barefoot on something that isn’t tile.

Nature isn’t basic.
It’s just been wildly under-marketed.

Happy birthday to this amazing mama!

This is a baby born in the caul (waterbag). During a pandemic. His mother chose a homebirth when the virus began making all the rules. I was the midwife but I missed it by about 15 minutes. She was in good hands with her mother and her sister and her husband on the phone with me. Her mother-in-law caught this photo of her mother and her sister catching her baby. I find this so completely amazing! Many a professional birth photographer could only hope to catch a moment this precious and sacred. I am sharing this with permission. ❤️
