The title “health coach” is completely unregulated. Anyone can use it. No degree. No exam. No code of ethics.
That’s a problem and it’s exactly why I decided to pursue a higher standard.
I’ve completed the coursework, logged the required hours, and sat for the NBHWC board exam (National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching) established in partnership with the National Board of Medical Examiners. Now I’m waiting on results.
This isn’t a weekend workshop. It’s a professional standard that requires real work and I did the work.
Here’s what that commitment means in practice:
✅ Coaching is personalized — not one-size-fits-all plans broadcast to an audience
✅ Coaching is science-backed — rooted in behavioral health research, not trending hacks
✅ Coaching respects scope — I don’t diagnose, prescribe, or replace your doctor
If you’ve tried the 21-day programs and the detox challenges and still feel stuck it’s not a discipline problem. It’s that those programs weren’t built for you.
For my healthcare colleagues: if your patients struggle to turn your guidance into daily action that’s exactly the gap a board certified health coach fills. I’d love to connect.
The wellness industry doesn’t need more noise. It needs more integrity.
