Tri-State Therapeutic Riding Center Tri-State Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine assisted activities and therapies to individuals of all ages with various disabilities.

Our programs include:

• Reinbow Riders: Therapeutic riding for individuals with special needs
• Taking the Lead: Equine-assisted learning program for at-risk youth
• Horses for Heroes: Therapeutic riding for disabled veterans
• Reinbow Rehabilitation: Hippotherapy for physical therapy patients
•Therapeutic Driving: Carriage driving for individuals with special needs
• All-Abilities Summer Camps: Summer camp for all ages & abilities
• Special Olympics: Hosts Area 4 & the 2014 TN State Special Olympics

Huge shout out to this mornings hay crew! 🚜👩‍🌾🙌

This group is logging over 100 volunteer hours a month. They are feeding horse 3x a week, filling hay nets, waters, cleaning stalls, tack, unloading weekly feed orders and today helping to stack our barn full of hay for the horses.
We are so thankful for our dedicated barn family and the community we have out here at TSTRC!

About a year ago, TSTRC was awarded a grant through Bradley County Healthy Community Initiative to purchase a tractor. We have since then been able to implement a pasture management plan. Our pasture management plan has included seeding, amending, rotational grazing, and mowing for w**d management without spraying. This summer for the first time in seven years, our herd has not eaten any round bales of hay!!!
For those of you that are familiar with our facility, we have about 5 acres per herd of 8 horses. We are excited about the opportunity to effectively steward our land, and ensure its long-term sustainability, as well as the added health benefits our herd of horses are receiving.

Somedays its the little things like a good curry bringing joy to the barn!
If you slow down and notice, horses give so much feed back while interacting. They express their thoughts and feelings through their actions and body language. Students are so quick to want to adapt and find successful communication with the horses. It can be eye opening to consider how similar concepts and adaptations build successful interpersonal relationships. But at the end of the day, all you can control is yourself and your approach.

We want to extend a huge thank you to our Platinum and Gold Sponsors thus far for Boots in the Barn!

As a non-profit providing affordable and accessible services to a growing population in need, we only charge 36% of our operating costs in tuition. The remainder of our budget is grant and donor funded.

We are truely grateful for the community's investment in our mission to serve our local community providing safe and effective equine assisted therapies to individuals with physical, developmental, cognitive and emotional challenges.

Our equine assisted therapy programs create individualized treatment plans to help target specific growth for each participant. Sometimes its mental, emotional, or behavioral goals, and other times its physical. Sitting astride a horse challenges balance and stability as each stride requires constant adjustment. A horse's movement closely resembles the natural motion of human walking, encouraging the rider to strengthen muscles, improve posture, and develop better coordination and flexibility.

We are excited to begin announcing this year’s Boots in the Barn supporters!

TSTRC is able to charge only 40% of our operating costs in tuition. 60% of our funding is coming from grant and donation support that keeps equine assisted therapies at Tri-State accessible and affordable. Our programs are also logging over 450 volunteer hours a month. We are so thankful to our local community for furthering our mission.

Our Silver Stirrup program has been such a fun addition to Tri-State! We have been able to get lifelong horse people safely back in the saddle, get individuals started who would not otherwise have opportunity and give our adult volunteers access to reap the benefits of the program they donate their time to!
From physical growth, to a social outlet and improved mental and emotional health, there is so much to be learned through horses for all ages!
We are always accepting new registration paperwork for interested participants!
