Three months ago, I took one of the biggest and scariest risks of my life and opened my own massage therapy business.
Terrified doesn't even begin to describe how I felt.
Choosing to walk away from stability and step into an unknown income with three young kids depending on me felt overwhelming.
I didn’t know if I’d make enough money, how long it would take to build a clientele, or if I was even making the right decision. Starting over is scary in general, but starting over as a mom carries a different kind of weight.
Deep down I knew I was being pushed toward something bigger, and instead of fighting it, I finally trusted myself enough to go for it.
I couldn’t have done this without my support system. My family helped me get my boots on the ground, my daughters dad renovated my massage room for me, my friends encouraged me and spoke positivity into me. My family, friends, clients, and the amazing neighbors in the building I work in (Pura Vita Wellness Collective) have all poured so much love and encouragement into me these last few months.
And because I chose to invest heavily in myself, my education, and my craft, I was able to pay myself by my first month in business. Now my schedule continues filling up week after week, and I still catch myself getting emotional thinking about it.
Massage therapy has always been so much more than a job to me. Being trusted to help people feel safe in their bodies, manage pain, release stress, and heal is something I’ll never take lightly.
To every single person who has booked with me, referred someone to me, shared a post or review, encouraged me, or believed in me, THANK YOU.
These first three months have already changed my life, and I’m so excited to continue growing my knowledge and my business💜
