A mantra isn't a spell.. it won't 'fix' the day you're having... what it can do is give you somewhere to land when your mind starts spiraling or need to set yourself on a more joyful uplifting path... a single line to ground you and hold you until the wave passes.

Save this for whenever you need to reset your mind for joy.

Pick the one that resonates or helps you recenter most and let it be enough for that day.

A good summer doesn't have to be made from long vacations and big ticket stuff...

In reality it is often the simple things.... that you take time to be in the moment for... that really bring the summer to life... so as we head into June, take a moment to think what that could mean for how you spend your time...

For example, taking long way home with the windows down to sing your heart out to your favorite playlist.... watching fireflies dance in the warm air of a summer's evening....

But don't forget... June is the kick off of the FIFA World Cup (11th Mexico / South Africa) and of course... it's Father's Day on the 21st 🧑

You don't have to make June impressive. You just have to actually be in it. This is a whole calendar month of small, doable ideas on how to do exactly that.

Save it and make your June super fun...

Addiction.

The Tree of Addictions. Addictions don't happen out of nowhere. Underlying almost all addictions are responses to core issues earlier in life, perhaps ignited by events in adulthood.

Core issues can include : abuse ( physical or emotional) , fear, anger, shame, neglect ( physical or emotional), trauma, abandonment or social environmental factors.

Not all addiction is due to trauma. Other factors come into play.

Addiction is often a way of self soothing or medicating/managing pain of one type or another - or several.

Distractions and stopping for a while may help in the short term though staying stopped is tricky.

Addressing the root ( core) issue is needed.

Even this infographic shows a simplistic overview of a complex condition.

Healing and moving on from addiction is absolutely possible with regular therapy or finding an established ( free) self help group such as SMART recovery or 12 step ie AA.
