Your CPR certification card won't save anyone's life. Your hands will.

I've been teaching CPR, AED, and First Aid for a while now, and I'm noticing a shift that honestly bothers me. People are showing up to get certified — not trained. There's a difference.

A certificate is a piece of paper. A skill is something that lives in your muscle memory at 2am when someone you love collapses and there's no time to think.

I get it. Employers require the card. Insurance wants the documentation. The box needs to be checked.

But here's what I want for every single person who walks into one of my classes — I want them to leave knowing they can actually do this. Not just that they passed a test.

Confidence in an emergency doesn't come from a laminated card. It comes from practice.

When did we start caring more about the credential than the capability?

Often, the first person on scene is a coworker, family member, coach, or teammate—not a medical professional. CPR turns ordinary people into immediate responders.

Emergency responders are not always immediately available
Even fast response times mean several critical minutes without medical care. A trained bystander can make the difference between life and death during those moments.
A cell phone dialing 911 is not the answer to a cardiac emergency. YOU need to be ready act. Get trained. I am happy to help.
