A legend to this day, Lou Gehrig. His speech in the face of adversity and death is still one of the best speeches ever given. “So I close in saying that I might have been given a bad break, but I’ve got an awful lot to live for. Thank you." Not to mention he put up numbers that rivaled Joe DiMaggio in 1938 despite playing with ALS before having a diagnosis.
