Acupressure can be combined with other natural remedies for labor induction, especially if there is a deadline coming up (e.g. a scheduled medical induction or even C-section if labor hasn't started by a certain date).

Once a due date has passed - or an OB-GYN gives the okay to start working on labor early - these acupoints should be stimulated often to get things moving!

One of the most common reasons that people give for not trying acupuncture is the fear of needles. This often stems from memories of getting shots or blood draws at a medical doctor's office, but an acupuncture treatment is a very different experience!

The needles themselves differ from the those used in Western medicine, and the way that they are inserted is also a completely dissimilar technique.

Read more details in our latest blog post...and then schedule an appointment when you're ready to give acupuncture a try!

The fear of needles is one of the most common reasons that people do not try acupuncture, but there are quite a few differences between acupuncture needles and the syringes used by doctors!

When patients tell us that they're afraid of needles, the phobia is usually based on an experience with a doctor's syringe.

Acupuncture needles are very small - about the diameter of a hair - and nothing goes in them or on them. They're tapped in quickly to bypass superficial nerve endings, which means their insertion is often completely painless, much different than a shot or blood draw 💉

If you've been hesitant to try acupuncture because of a needle phobia, give us a try!
