Two of our residents volunteered to be part of a pilot study involving a robot that is designed to interact with residents through conversation. This robotic companion could remind residents of activities and appointments, and just converse with them! The group from Abide Robotics visited and explained about their program and Nancy and Wanda signed up! They both had interesting experiences with their robots and both enjoyed helping with the pilot. Their conversations were fun to hear! These robots move their heads and antennas on their own as they speak! Thank you to Abide Robotics for including Oxford Grand residents in your study! A peek into this week - Bobby and Yvonne looking beautiful together! School supplies were packed and delivered to the staff members with school-age children! Thank you to all who donated! Thank you to Cecilia and Rishona for doing an outstanding job on preparing the bags! Saturday saw a packed house for the afternoon movie! A great way to wind down the week!

On one of the hottest days so far this summer we spent some time cooling Mike off with some water balloon fun! As always, Mike was a great sport as residents took turns launching water-filled balloons at him and tossing them at him! There was even a powerful water gun in use! We had some helpers eager to assist residents in this - thank you to Cindy, Mendy, and Rishona! After almost an hour of being the target Mike took to launching balloons, too! Luckily our visiting nurse had a sense of humor! With all of this hot fun Jessica, with Reliant at Home, and her friends had a lemonade/ice tea bar and kept all refreshed with delicious drinks! Thank you to everybody for your time and participation on this very hot day! A very special thank you to Mike for allowing all of this to take place and making sure everyone had a great time!

This beautiful, new flag flying proudly at our community was gifted to us by Dwayne, a resident’s family member. Thank you, Dwayne! We all appreciate your thoughtfulness! Checking in on Wanda and her puzzles - it took her less than a day to complete one! She is embarking on a two thousand piece puzzle of the planets! We will update as she gets going with it!

We had a remarkable treat this afternoon thanks to Debi with Remarkable Home Health! Residents and staff enjoyed waffle sticks with all sorts of delicious fruit! Thank you to Debi for bringing such a fun snack to us - everyone loved them!!! Thanks to Rishona for helping with all the preparation!

There was a lot of serious thinking going on for Lisa’s Team Time! This game - Words in a Word - had her group pulling 119 different ones from the starting word! Great job, everyone!

Very involved artists today with Charlotte’s watercolor therapy - creating beautiful works! Thank you to Charlotte for her devotion and thoughtfulness - visiting each month and bringing this relaxing, creative, and enjoyable time for all!

It was a packed audience for Cindy Kahn’s performance - and every member was delighted! Don was especially happy to have Cindy back! Thank you, Cindy, for a spectacular one-woman program! We also had raffle prize winners - Gracie won a prize! Juliette held onto Sally’s prize until she could deliver it to her! Congratulations, ladies! Thank you to Renee with Aviator Home Health for donating the raffle prizes this month!
