Today I had the privilege of holding not one but TWO of the babies I’ve seen come into the world.

What a sweet thing it is to hold these wiggle worms and talk deeply about the way they came into the world with their beautiful mamas.

Child birth after a terrible loss is a whole new realm of emotional + spiritual landscapes. Samatha was a client but she was also a friend. Someone God had brought to me in those tender months right after she’d gone through losing Jameson.

When she invited me into her birth space with Samson, I was deeply touched. I spent months preparing my heart in prayer. Asking the Holy Spirit to show me how to honor this family at their birth. How to hold space. How to step back. How to step in.

It was 100% God who filled my mouth with the right words to say to Samantha as she roared her beautiful boy into the world.

My work anointing song is “The Great Commission” by CAIN. “Go tell the world about Me”. I do that in just this way.

Forever proud of Samantha, Ben, and their boys🤍✨

✨☁️REMAINING AVAILABILITY FOR BIRTHS☁️✨

I am so blessed by my amazing mamas who’ve chosen me to be their doula🤍 This calling is a blessing in my life. I’m so honored and humbled.

I have a few slots left in 2026 to take care of mamas and of course 2027 is wide open (see you ladies in a couple months 😉)

If you are wanting to use me but I don’t have space, please reach out anyways. I have some wonderful doulas who I trust and know work under a similar birth philosophy as my own✨☁️☺️

“But what does a doula do if I end up getting the epidural?”

She makes you laugh.

She wipes your brow.

When you say that you miss your mama, she asks “What would you want her to do if she was here?” and then she does it.

She prays for you unceasingly, even when you cannot hear.

She is listening, listening, listening. To you. To the monitors. To what your care provider is whispering in the corner.

She is thinking what position she can suggest to help bring that baby down.

When it comes time to push, she is telling you everything she knows about how to push out a baby with an epidural. Because she once did it too.

And above all… she is bearing witness to you. Your strength. Your story. So when you doubt yourself in those early days (and even the later ones) she can say without a doubt

“You are an incredible mother.”

If you’ve ever thought…

“Do I really need a doula?”
“Would it actually make a difference?”
“What would she even do?”

I get it. Truly. I skipped one with my first.

But here’s what I’ve seen again and again:

* Women don’t regret having too much support in birth
* They regret feeling alone, unsure, or unheard

I’m Lydia Parrish, a birth doula serving DFW + Texoma, and I walk with women through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
This means:

• Someone you can text when something feels off
• Someone who helps you prepare (not just hope for the best)
• Someone in the room who knows you, your desires, your fears
• Someone supporting you while your partner gets to be fully present

I’ve given birth in a hospital and at home.
I know how different each space can feel. I also know how much support matters in both.

If you’re even a little curious, let’s talk it through together.
