Welcome to Week 3 of Adaptogens 🤎 low energy ⚡️, brain fog & resilience

This post goes over our agenda for the week -

No guessing, no stacking—just a clean plan you can follow and measure. But first, you need to identify your pattern 🌀

This week I’m releasing 3 complementary protocols with my favorite♡ 2-3 brands per herb we’ve covered. 🔗You can also purchase these for a discount through my dispensary but I don’t want you to do so until you’ve tracked your pattern!

    1. Calming Protocol - live now on fullscript 🧬 inplementation guide🗺️ coming later today
    2. Modulating Protocol
    3. Stimulating / Building

Your job: identify your current pattern → pick the matching lane → stay consistent.

Rule: Start slow. One change at a time. Track the signals & changes throughout the process. Create a day log folder or carry around a good old notebook!

PS - remember you deserve to feel good in your body! Makes me crazy that low energy ⚡️ & fatigue tend to get a blanket statement in the world of mental health like “oh maybe you’re depressed”

like no maybe my adrenal glands literally have no energy ⚡️ left and sorry antidepressants aren’t going to fix that 🤪

Anyone else have this experience?

Happy Friday 🤍
Ending our week 2 of 3 series on Adaptogens 🤎

For a long time when I was deep in the midst of my in my Lyme & Mold healing, I chased *energy*—and it backfired every time my system was still depleted.

One thing that genuinely helped me “turn the corner” was CORDYCEPS 🍄🐛

Two of her superpowers that are my favorite♡ are that she’s an antibiotic & adaptogen… so amazing for those silent, chronic , stealthy infections ⚡️

Not as a quick boost… but as steady support while I was rebuilding. I noticed steadier mornings, better workout recovery, and fewer crashes — which mattered more than any temporary lift.

Just a reminder: **energy support ≠ recovery.**

And some tools (like GINSENG) can be amazing… but too activating if you’re already wired/anxious and or having histamine reactivity issues.

If “energy support” has ever felt hit-or-miss for you, this is exactly why—and why the *order* matters.

For today’s full deep dive (including how to tell **output vs repair** in your own body), head to my Substack—link in bio.

Sometimes the power is knowing that you need LESS of something …

So many of my Clients🦋 come to me on soooooo many supplements WITHOUT a Strategy or even understanding why they’re taking them.

Which I understand, things can get overwhelming in the supplement world. Which is why creating an individualized map for your health goals are Life changing.

There’s a kind of stress support that is not about pushing harder or adding more… needing to “fix” that ONE thing.

Sometimes the body is asking for more *time* & *steadiness* before allowing you the Space or natural feeling stimulation.

In today’s Substack, I’m comparing
—Schisandra
— Tulsi
— Reishi

3 gentle adaptogens I think about very differently when someone feels sensitive, depleted, emotionally reactive, or slower to recover.

Because not every “stress herb” fits every stress pattern.

The root cause & best question is:
— what is your body actually asking for right now? & whyyy

Does it align with your mental goals? No?

Time to take a look at those and ask why you set them in the first place , I find a lot of us forget to upgrade our hardware let alone software.

The even deeper question⁉️
— I get asked a lot …. would it be best to change things up specifically week to week (aka 🩸cycle synch) & for most it’s a bit too soon.

One thing I my clients about is not only figuring out cause of your symptoms but also once you have a plan being able to hold that plan with peace and ease

Because many of us aren’t even in the physical let alone mental emotional bandwidth to add something so nuanced as a schedule for our period, & then what … one that aligns workouts and what I eat around it?

It can be overwhelming if your body isn’t in the rice Space yet , with the right conditions. The best way to shift your nervous System state is physically with rhythm & routines. It takes time & simply adding a breathwork practice ain’t gonna cut it honey 🤍

Some of us need more consistency in the basics, more steadiness & ease to help our body REMEMBER how to naturally process things.

I unpacked the full breakdown inside today’s post 🤍

Today’s Substack deep dive is on

Ashwagandha vs Rhodiola

— why one may help you feel calmer, while the other may feel more energizing or even overstimulating, depending on your pattern.

This week we’re diving deeper into our Adaptogens 🤎Series!

we’re not just “meeting the adaptogens.”
We’re learning how to think about them in practice, which helps make this practical 🎓

For cordyceps, ginseng, ashwagandha vs. rhodiola, schisandra, tulsi, and reishi, I’ll walk through:

What it is
Why it matters
How it may work biochemically
2–3 key mechanisms of action
5–6 potential benefits
3–4 Western conditions or patterns it’s commonly studied in

Because “good for stress” is not enough.

Some herbs are more restorative.
Some are more regulating.
Some are more mobilizing.

And choosing well means understanding the body’s pattern first — not following the trendiest supplement list.

Your body isn’t random.
Symptoms are signals. 🌹🌀🌊

Happy Friday! Just a reminder, you may not even NEED an adaptogen…

although I’ve never met someone who hasn’t felt great on an individualized herb 🥰

Pausing before we go deep into my favorite 8 adaptogens —

Another reminder - You don’t have to take all the things (or start everything at once).

Here, we’re zooming in on lifestyle & daily medicine to help build a foundation your body can actually receive.

>>> Pick 1–2 from this list and try it for 7 days:

1) Blood sugar steadiness (especially breakfast): Protein + fiber + healthy fat within 60–90 min of waking. & complete meals.

2) Minerals + hydration:
Start the day with water + electrolytes/mineral support (especially if you crave salt or feel dizzy).

3) Morning light + gentle start:
5–10 minutes of outdoor light (great if you can do red light) + a slower first 15 minutes (no immediate cortisol-spike scroll).

4) 10-Minute Lymphatic + Wake-Up Body Routine (no equipment)

5) Caffeine with strategy
Delay coffee 60–90 minutes and never on an empty stomach. Notice: more jitters = more “wired” pattern.

5) Nervous system downshift
2 minutes: longer exhales (inhale 4, exhale 6–8) or legs-up-the-wall.

6) Sleep rhythm (the real adrenal “supplement”): Pick one: consistent bedtime, screens off 30–60 min, or a 10-minute wind-down ritual.

Gentle reminder: More isn’t better. Consistency is.

Save this and stay tuned to meet he girlies next 🌿

Adaptogens 201 🤎Part 2: The Clinical Pattern Map

On a “ normal” day, cortisol is supposed to rise in the morning to help you wake up, feel alert, mobilize energy, and meet the demands of the day.

Then, as the day goes on, it should gradually soften — making room for digestion, repair, sleep, and nervous system recovery.

So the goal isn’t “low cortisol” and it’s not suppose to be balanced ALL DAY, rather … balanced in that it follows a RHYTHM and natural daily cycle...

___________________________________________

Do you trend towards
LOW CORTISOL
HIGH CORTISOL
MIXED STATES
?

Another big reframe I Work with clients on , “stress” isn’t a diagnosis— it doesn’t only include how your body reacts, it’s a pattern that recycles daily!

And your pattern matters because the goal isn’t to force energy…

it’s to support regulation + resilience.

In this post, I’m sharing a simple way to sort what you’re feeling into three generalized buckets energetically:
— Wired (revved + can’t come down - think anxiety, overwhelm, overactive nervous & histamine systems - think allergies, etc)
— Depleted (flat + can’t mobilize — think depression, chronic fatigue, brain fog, etc)
— Mixed (a mix of the above… can include tired all day, wired at night)

Please note every body’s cortisol rhythm moves on a daily basis and you can have much more complex patterns - not just “high” or “low” .

But for now, know it’s an invaluable tool to be able to identify what state you’re in naturally compared to yourself before you change anything else!

Here’s the thing I wish someone told me sooner: the first time I tried an adaptogen, I thought I was doing something that would bring balance to my ▷ System … and instead I felt more wired, instead of focused.

Even though a lot of herbs work best when you take them consistently, sometimes with many herbs, you can feel the effects right away! Especially if you’re sensitive.

▷ Adaptogens — Part 01 🤎

If you’ve ever tried a “stress supplement” and felt more anxious… or took something to give you more stable energy through the day and ended up wide awake at night… you’re not alone.

Adaptogens can be powerful — but they’re not interchangeable, and the right one depends on the state your body is in, and what  ▷ System (s) you’re targeting. Plus a few other factors.

So for the next 2 weeks, I’m sharing a short, practical series to help you stop guessing and start matching herbs to your nervous system pattern:
🌀Wired (anxious, restless, insomnia-prone)
🌀 Depleted (flat, heavy, low reserve)
🌀 Mixed (tired all day, wired at night)

We’ll keep it simple, relatable, and actionable — with real-world examples and “what to do next” steps.

A lot of women are told they have a “hormone imbalance”…

but the symptoms can overlap more than we realize.

PMS, PCOS, anxiety/depression/mood swings, brain fog, fatigue, sleep changes, cravings, low libido, weight changes, anxiety, constipation, skin shifts — these can all show up in different patterns.

Sometimes it’s reproductive hormones.

Sometimes it’s cortisol + stress physiology.

Sometimes it’s thyroid + metabolism.

Sometimes it’s insulin + blood sugar regulation.

A lot of times, it’s a mix. But you can almost always identify your top causes with a proper in depth intake - not with 15 or even 30 min appointments 😤😖😣

And for some, sometimes… it’s the foundation underneath all of them:

gut health
digestion
absorption
bile flow
liver support
lymph
elimination
blood sugar
and nervous system regulation

That’s why yesterday’s post was about clearing the pathway first.

Because before we ask, “what do I take?”
we want to ask:
—- what system is asking for support first?

Your hormones don’t work in isolation.

Estrogen needs the liver, bile, gut, and stool to help it move out.

Thyroid depends on nourishment, absorption, minerals, blood sugar, and cellular energy.

Cortisol is shaped by stress, sleep, inflammation, and nervous system load.

Insulin is deeply connected to cravings, energy crashes, mood, cycle changes, and metabolic health.

This is the part that makes hormone work less confusing.

Not because your symptoms are random —
but because your body is always trying to communicate through patterns.

Next week, we’re moving into adaptogens:
what they do, how they differ, and why the “right” one depends on your actual pattern.

Save this if you’ve ever wondered:
is this hormones, stress, thyroid, insulin, gut… or all of the above?

Ending our week & mini series on the topic of 🌷 ”The Missing Piece in Hormone Healing”

Before balancing hormones, support the pathways that help your body move, clear, and release.

Sometimes the next step isn’t adding more — it’s helping what’s already there flow with ease. 🦋

Clear the pathways first.

Stay tuned, the next few weeks we’ll do a series on adaptogens 🤍
