Tick season is here, and with it comes increased awareness of Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS)—a unique allergy that can develop after certain tick bites.
Unlike most food allergies, symptoms often occur several hours after eating mammalian meat and can range from mild reactions to severe anaphylaxis.
Because AGS can look different from person to person, proper evaluation and management by a board-certified allergist is important.
If you’ve experienced delayed allergic reactions after eating red meat or have questions about Alpha-Gal Syndrome, schedule an appointment with our office. 💚
