“All patients are entitled to high quality care led by a physician” . Of course at iNHS, you only get the physician and no other layer. Where else can you do that?
You would think this statement would not be a controversial statement but in this era of MBA-led healthcare systems, there is an aggressive push from non-physicians to expand their role into the role of the actual physician. I worked very well with my former team that was comprised of physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners. But there was no confusion on who was the decision maker of this healthcare team (The Physician). The scope creep of these non-physicians has been aggressive and unrelenting only made possible by the support of large health systems to improve their bottom line.
I thought it would be good to share this AOA statement on this topic.
