9/11, 25 years later.
Where were you when the two towers fell, plane crashed into the Pentagon, and a crash into a field,

In memory of the victims, survivors, and first responders who died, lived, and those who continue to relive the nightmare.

Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.– Victor Hugo

Thrilled to share that I'll be joining the Broadstreet Institute as part of their Maternal and Infant Health cohort! 🎉 I'll be building my data and research skills in maternal and child health as a public health practitioner. I'm especially passionate about perinatal mental health and healthcare access, and I can't wait to contribute to work that directly impacts families during one of the most critical times in their lives. Here's to an incredible summer!

One of my favorite classes to teach is Disease Prevention and Control. At the end of the semester, students create a game based on a disease of their choice. The rules are simple: no Kahoots. Otherwise, the sky’s the limit, as long as the game involves teamwork, collaboration, and a genuine attempt to teach classmates about a disease or condition. Activities like this are deeply connected to public health because they help students build the communication, education, and problem-solving skills essential for promoting health and preventing disease in real communities.

We finished Day 1 today. The topics included cardiovascular and cardiomyopathic diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, and endocrine system disorders. The games featured memory challenges, team-based play, and a version similar to Candy Land.
