“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” — Albert Einstein
Somewhere, over time, we we taught that we were supposed to pay more attention to "facts." We were told to focus on the things that we could see because that which we can see is what is real and nothing else is. That which we can not measure is not real.
The thing is, we are constantly learning to measure new things that we couldn't see before. Just because you can't see something doesn't make it UNREAL.
We were taught to ignore our emotions and feelings. Taught that what we couldn't see, we could not depend on.
Logic matters. Science matters. Critical thinking matters.
But somewhere along the way, many of us stopped listening to the quieter voice inside. The feeling that tells us something is off before we can explain why. The inner knowing that nudges us toward a different path. The sense that our body often knows the answer long before our mind catches up.
As someone who works with the nervous system every day, I've seen this countless times. Clients will tell me they're "fine," while their breath, posture, tension patterns, and energy tell a completely different story.
The mind is great at creating stories and deceiving us for it's own safety.
The body is brilliant at telling the truth.
The goal isn't to choose intuition over logic or logic over intuition. It's to let them work together. Using your rational mind to evaluate the information. Using your intuitive mind to help you know where to look.
Sometimes healing begins not by thinking harder, but by listening a little more deeply.
When was the last time your intuition knew something before your mind did?
