Fall brings a colorful variety of fruits, vegetables, and other foods that can support healthy aging. Here are a few to add to your fall menu:
🍎 Apples & Pears – Packed with fiber to support healthy digestion and delicious on their own, with nut butter, over oatmeal, or baked into a favorite treat.
🎃 Pumpkin & Butternut Squash – Their bright orange color comes from beta-carotene and vitamin A, which support healthy eyes, skin, and immune function.
🍠 Sweet Potatoes – A tasty source of vitamin C and other nutrients that help support a healthy immune system.
🥬 Kale – This leafy green is loaded with vitamins and minerals and can be enjoyed raw, sautéed, or added to soups.
🫐 Cranberries – These tart berries provide nutrients with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
🥗 Beets – Naturally occurring nitrates in beets may help support healthy blood pressure.
🥕 Parsnips – A delicious cousin to the carrot, parsnips provide vitamin C, folate, and fiber.
🌰 Walnuts – Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, walnuts are a tasty addition to salads, trail mix, and baked goods and can support brain and heart health.
