Today, we took a step back in time and spent an entertaining afternoon with one of America’s most beloved storytellers!

Reenactor Jim Brown brought Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain, to life, sharing fascinating stories about Twain’s ties to local history and the historic Gibson House in Jamestown, Pennsylvania. Filled with humor, storytelling, and interesting historical insights, his presentation was both educational and entertaining to the packed house.

Today, we proudly honor three remarkable members of the Greatest Generation whose lives reflect a century of service, sacrifice, and perseverance.

Please join us in recognizing our World War II veterans, Bob Mortensen, Jim Vogan, and Jim Duratz, who have each celebrated their 100th birthday within the past year.

Their courage helped shape the world we know today, and their stories continue to inspire generations. We are grateful for their military service, their contributions to our communities, and the example they set through lives well lived.

Wesbury Director of Communications, Andy Clawson, shares the history of Wesbury with residents. Founded in 1918, Wesbury’s story begins outside of Conneautville, Pennsylvania where Pittsburgh-area businessman, Hyatt M. Cribbs, donated a portion of his farm to the ministers and laymen of the Erie Conference of the United Methodist Church.

108 years later, Wesbury continually assesses and responds to the evolving needs of the Meadville community and the greater Northwest Pennsylvania region. As the senior healthcare landscape transforms, new and innovative approaches to care delivery create opportunities to provide services in the most appropriate, effective, and person-centered settings.

Wesbury remains committed to staying at the forefront of these advancements, adapting and investing in solutions that enhance quality, accessibility, and outcomes.
