Meadville Medical Center is proud to be recognized as one of America's Best Maternity Hospitals in 2026! 🤰 Newsweek chose 460 hospitals across the country based on hospital quality metrics, patient experience, and reputation scores, and is MMC amongst them!

🏥 We're committed to maintaining quality maternity care for our local communities, especially as many counties across the country (more than 35%, according to Newsweek), find themselves designated as "maternity care deserts".

It takes the effort of many to earn this kind of recognition. In this case, much of that goes to the incredible care and expertise of the team at Meadville Ob/Gyn Associates! 🙌

Changes in parking for the next week due to construction! 👇

🚧 TRAFFIC AND PARKING IMPACTED JULY 28 – AUGUST 5 🚧
This includes areas around Kennedy Street and Liberty Street Medical Arts Building in Meadville.

🏗️ Crane operations to replace an air handling unit will affect the area around our Liberty Street Medical Arts Building (LSMAB). During this time, the LSMAB parking lot will be closed and Kennedy Street will be closed at times too.

📣 PATIENTS AND VISITORS📣
Please park in posted areas across from Liberty Street Hospital. MMC Security will be available to assist you, if needed. Avoid parking in areas of construction and those not clearly marked as designated MMC lots.

🚶‍➡️ Pedestrian and emergency access will not be impacted. Please allow yourselves additional travel time to appointments at Liberty Street and Kennedy Street Facilities.

🛑 Please do not utilize the parking area reserved for Hospice of Crawford County unless you are conducting business there!

🏥 Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve the infrastructure of our hospital in order to better serve our patients and our community!

This week is Black Maternal Mental Health Week. Black mothers experience postpartum depression at a rate of 40%, yet only about 25% seek professional help.

The danger is also physical. From 2008 to 2020, non-Hispanic Black women were almost twice as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes compared to non-Hispanic white women.

Taking care of mental health is a huge part of staying healthy during and after pregnancy. Check in on the moms in your life today!

2️⃣ There are two types of uterine cancer: endometrial cancer, which starts in the lining of the uterus and comprises about 90% of diagnoses, and uterine sarcoma, which develops in the muscle or other other tissues of the uterus. 🏷️ IGCSociety
