JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for follow up of accounts including all payers, as well as complete resolution of claims denials. This position is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account. Contacting insurance carriers, patients, identify issues or apply changes as needed to receive payment on Meadville Medical Center accounts. Reconciling edits and rejection reports. Ability to research and resolve accounts appearing on accounts receivable reports, collection ledgers and payer reports as directed by management making appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent.
One-year experience with medical collections.
Knowledge of various payer groups.
Ability to work in high production environment.
Position requires excellent customer service.
Position requires attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft application (including but not limited to word and excel).
This role requires extensive computer use.
General knowledge of internet navigation and research, email, fax transmission, scanning and copy equipment.

Description

Purpose:
Works with members of the Security Team to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees at the hospital facility. Responsible for the protection of all hospital property as well as for patient property entrusted to the department. Directs personnel involved in establishing, promoting and maintaining hospital security and property protection programs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Maintains performance improvement activities within the departments and assures competency of all personnel. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all state, and federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

Will be armed with a firearm.

Responsibilities:

Ability to handle evidence control pertaining criminal investigations
Responds to acts of extreme violence at properties that have the potential to require the deployment of deadly force as dictated by policy.
May be required to support various types of investigations that have system-wide implication
Required to carry, properly handle, and be able to deploy a firearm.
Investigates incidents.
Appropriately escalates problems and concerns to Management's attention.
May function as a shift supervisor as needed to oversee the operations of assigned shift and formally lead the daily operations of the department, organize and assign work, and provide daily instruction to staff regarding specific duties and assignments.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Act 120 trained or equivalent (PA State Police Act Police Academy training, Police Officer training as mandated by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers) with 1 year of experience in law enforcement or a security related field preferred OR
Five years of prior law enforcement experience in which a firearm was an essential tool and for which, at minimum, annual firearm training and qualification was maintained
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to effectively interact, communicate, and diffuse potential combative situations.
Psychological fitness required to deal with stress and potentially dangerous conflict situations.
Physical fitness requirements to deal with typical physical demands that require full body motion and physical strength and stamina sufficient to respond to crisis interventions and medical emergencies.
Good interpersonal skills; able to deal with stress and potentially dangerous conflict situations.

Act 235 with successful completion of both the academic and fi****ms training modules, required prior to hire.
Must meet audio and visual standards outlined in Act 235 at time of hire.

Coordinate total physical therapy care. To administer directly or through direct supervision the delivery of physical therapy procedures to inpatients, outpatients and patients of the Rehabilitation and Transitional Care Units of Meadville Medical Center, from birth to geriatrics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a degree in physical therapy from an approved school. Must hold a license for physical therapy in the state of Pennsylvania and/or be working towards getting a license as would be the case of new graduates. Must be able to communicate and exchange information effectively. Analytical skills and organizational skills necessary to develop and implement a plan for physical therapy care appropriate to the unique needs of the patient. Ability to concentrate, plan, prioritize and react calmly and perform as a professional physical therapist to resolve patient care problems, interact with patient's families and other team members, in occasional stressful situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical ability to perform occasional heavy lifting, extensive or considerable periods of standing and walking; position, push, pull and/or transfer patients and equipment. Requires occasional squatting, reaching, bending, lifting supplies, equipment and patients. Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
