At just 25, Maggie Carpenter had just gotten engaged and was building her career as a pediatric nurse when a stroke changed everything. After intensive care, Maggie turned to SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital - Oklahoma City to regain her mobility and independence.
Through physical, occupational and speech therapy, Maggie progressed from needing help with nearly everything to walking more than 1,000 feet and returning to daily activities with minimal assistance. Her recovery continues with outpatient therapy as she prepares to return to the career she loves and the life she’s building with her fiancé.
