There's a phrase I come back to often: don't sacrifice your secure connection on the altar of a topic or an issue. 🌿

Long summer days have a way of bringing people together, and sometimes stirring up old tensions too.

Whatever the season brings, the foundation of a healthy relationship isn't winning an argument. It's staying emotionally connected even when you disagree.

That's what good couples therapy teaches. Visit evergreenandbridges.com to learn more about what working together looks like. πŸ’™

Not sure if therapy is right for you? 🀝

If you're ready to take an honest look at yourself and your relationships, and you're willing to do the work of real change, you're probably a good candidate.

I offer a comfortable, nonjudgmental space where you can say what's actually going on. I work with individuals and couples across the Harrisburg area, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, and surrounding communities.

Vacation time is supposed to be relaxing, but for many couples it reveals how disconnected they have become. πŸ’™

Close quarters, no distractions, and suddenly the distance is impossible to ignore.

If that sounds familiar, here is what to do when you get home:

βœ… Write down one thing you noticed felt distant or tense
βœ… Write down one moment that felt genuinely good between you
βœ… Share both with your partner without blame or defensiveness
βœ… Use that as a starting point for a real conversation

You do not have to fix everything at once. You just have to start somewhere. It is never too late to begin doing what is right or healthy.

Grief doesn't take a summer vacation. 🌱

If you're carrying loss and struggling to cope, individual therapy can offer real relief.

I work with adults navigating grief, major life transitions, and the emotional weight that comes with both. You don't have to carry it alone.

Real talk: I left 14 years of university teaching to sit across from people in the hardest moments of their lives, and I would make that choice a hundred times over. πŸ’™

The work is meaningful in a way I didn't fully expect. Watching someone move from stuck to free, from distant to connected, that never gets old.

If you're in the Harrisburg or West Shore area and wondering if now is the right time to start, the answer is usually yes. 🌿

One reason I don't work with insurance companies is this: insurance requires that I diagnose you with a mental health disorder before your sessions are covered. 🌿

But many of the people I work with don't have a disorder. They have a struggling marriage, a difficult season of life, or ADHD patterns they want to manage better.

Your situation deserves to be treated on its own terms, not shaped around a billing code. That's why I offer a private-pay model and remain transparent about fees from the start. πŸ’™

Healing after infidelity is one of the hardest things a couple can attempt. πŸ’™

It's not impossible, but it requires honesty, patience, and a structured process that most couples can't navigate alone.

I've worked with couples through this kind of pain since 2012. Recovery isn't about pretending nothing happened.

It's about rebuilding trust with clear eyes and a lot of guided work. 🌿

Vacationing with ADHD be like: packed three bags, forgot the charger, lost the sunscreen within 20 minutes of arriving, and somehow had the best time anyway. πŸ˜…

You are not a mess. You just work differently. ✈️

My approach to couples therapy isn't about deciding who's right. It's about understanding where the two of you get tangled up together. 🌿

Using a systems perspective, I look at the patterns and cycles between you and your partner, not the scoreboard.

Because most of the time, it's not about fault. It's about getting unstuck.

I serve couples in Lemoyne, Camp Hill, New Cumberland, Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, and across the greater Harrisburg area.

Peak summer tip for adults with ADHD: use your phone against the problem. πŸ“±

Set three recurring alarms daily labeled with what you should be doing at that moment, not just a generic reminder.

Something like checking the thing you promised, or spending 15 minutes on the project. Specificity is what makes reminders actually work for the ADHD brain.

Generic alarms get ignored. Concrete, named prompts create a moment of accountability that generic buzzers never do.
