After moving to Covenant Woods, Patsy discovered that fellow residents Helen and Janet shared a connection to her that stretched back decades. As they talked about where they grew up, they realized their families had once been neighbors in Richmond's Highland Park neighborhood. Their grandmothers knew one another, and as children, Helen, Janet, Patsy, and their cousins spent time together playing on the front porch while their grandmothers visited nearby.
The connection became even more meaningful when Patsy showed Helen and Janet a quilt sample their grandmother had made and gifted to Patsy's grandmother in the 1950s. The piece has remained with Patsy's family and is still displayed in her kitchen today.
Recently, the families reunited at Covenant Woods to share stories, memories, and a piece of family history that has connected them across generations.
Sometimes the smallest conversations lead to the most unexpected reunions. โค๏ธ
