POV: Anxiety convinces you that…

• Everyone is judging you
• You said something embarrassing
• You’re bothering people
• Something bad is about to happen
• You have to overthink every decision
• Rest means you’re lazy
• One mistake defines you

Anxiety can make thoughts feel like facts. They’re not always the truth.

As the school year comes to an end, many kids and parents are carrying more stress and emotional exhaustion than we realize. Transitions, schedule changes, social pressures, testing, and burnout can all impact mental wellness.

Here are a few reminders to support your family during this season:
• Keep routines as consistent as possible
• Make time for rest and decompression
• Validate emotions instead of rushing to fix them
• Encourage outdoor time and movement
• Remember that burnout affects kids too
• Model self care and stress management

You do not have to finish the school year perfectly to finish it well.

Save this post as a reminder for the weeks ahead.

Therapy is not just about talking about your problems. It’s about learning how to cope, regulate, heal, communicate, and better understand yourself.

You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. Sometimes therapy is simply having a safe place to grow.

Feeling overwhelmed or anxious? Try this simple grounding exercise to bring yourself back to the present moment.

5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
Take 3 slow deep breaths
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste

Grounding techniques help calm the nervous system and reconnect you to the here and now. Save this for the moments you need a reset.

Burnout doesn’t always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like still showing up while silently running on empty.

A reminder for the days you need it most:
• You are enough
• Progress isn’t always visible
• Breathe
• It’s okay to rest

Rest is not weakness. Slowing down is not failure. You do not have to earn your worth through exhaustion.

Anxiety can feel loud, overwhelming, and all consuming but small changes can make a big difference.

3 ways to help cope with anxiety:

Limit media exposure
Practice self care
Limit exposure to triggers

Protecting your peace is not avoidance, it’s regulation. Healing starts with creating an environment your nervous system feels safe in.

We’re hiring ✨

Inner Peace Counseling is growing, and we’re looking for two QMHA-certified individuals to join our team in a unique hybrid role based in downtown Medford.

This position combines front office reception with clinical work, giving you the opportunity to build your caseload while also having consistent hours and being part of the daily flow of the office.

We’re hiring for:
• Morning shift
• Afternoon shift

In this role, you’ll support clients at the front desk, answer phones, assist with scheduling, and complete screenings, while also providing case management services and growing your own client hours.

This is a great fit for someone who is motivated, organized, and ready to build meaningful client connections while gaining steady experience.

Compensation includes hourly pay for reception coverage plus pay per billable screening and billable QMHA services.

If you’re looking for a role that blends structure with growth and purpose, we would love to connect with you.

Sometimes the most healing moments are quiet ones.
A slow drive. A sunset. A single thought that feels safe to return to.
When your mind feels heavy or overstimulated, grounding yourself in something special: a memory, a person, a place, or even a feeling can help your nervous system settle.
At Inner Peace Counseling, we believe mental health isn’t always about fixing what’s broken. Sometimes it’s about learning how to pause, breathe, and reconnect with what brings you calm.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, you don’t have to carry it alone. We’re here to help you find those moments of inner peace, on the road and in everyday life.

Children often don’t have the words for big emotions, but they always have play.
In play therapy, toys, movement, and imagination become the language.
It’s where children work through anxiety, grief, trauma, transitions, and everyday stress in a way that feels safe and natural to them.
Play isn’t “just play.”
It’s how children build confidence.
It’s how they express what feels too big to say.
It’s how healing begins.

At Inner Peace Counseling, we meet children where they are, on the ground, in motion, in creativity; because that’s where growth happens.
🪁 Therapy that feels like childhood,
and works like healing.

EMDR looks different for everyone
You might see gentle eye movements with a light bar, handheld pulsers, or rhythmic tapping like knee taps or crossed-arm bilateral stimulation. These are all forms of bilateral stimulation, the core of EMDR, designed to help the brain safely reprocess distressing memories rather than stay stuck in them.
EMDR isn’t about reliving trauma. It’s about creating space for healing, regulation, and relief at your own pace, with support every step of the way.
Healing can be quiet. It can be subtle. And it can be incredibly powerful.
If you’ve been curious about EMDR, we’re here to answer questions and support your journey.
