Please join us in welcoming Momo to our team! 💙
Momo joins us as our newest phlebotomist, bringing with her an incredible and unique background. Born in Japan, Momo came to the United States on her own at just 16 years old.

Before joining us, Momo spent 16 years working for Rolex, where she serviced vintage caliber movements. So, there’s a chance she may have worked on your watch! ⌚️

When she’s not at work, Momo enjoys vintage shopping, visiting museums and historical sites, and caring for her many houseplants. She also has quite the animal family, including 8 ball pythons, 3 tortoises, 1 axolotl, and many other pets! 🐍🐢🦎💚
We’re so excited to have Momo as part of our team!

It’s with great sadness that we share the passing of Dr. John Shonerd, who was a beloved member of the Valley Family Practice family.

Dr. Shonerd joined VFP in the early 1980s after graduating from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Over the years he cared for generations of families with compassion and a genuine love for medicine.

John believed in giving back to the medical community. He served as a medical examiner, on Asante’s ethics committee, and mentored dozens of medical students throughout his career.

Those who worked with John remrmber his quick wit, mischievous smile, and the fun he brought to the office, especially at Halloween, when he never missed a chance to dress up and make everyone laugh. That tradition is still part of Valley Family Practice today because of him.

Outside of medicine, John enjoyed gardening, staying active, singing, watching soccer and spending time with his family. He lived a life of service and cared deeply about the people around him.

Our hearts are with his wife and three children, and all who knew and loved him.

Thank you, Dr. Shonerd, for the care you gave your patients, the friendships you built, and the example you set for so many of us in the medical field. You will always be part of the Valley Family Practice family, and you will be deeply missed. ❤️

♥️A Celebration of Life for Dr. Shonerd will be held on August 29. Those who knew John and would like to attend are welcome to email his wife, Michelle, at [email protected] for service details.♥️

Moriah brings many years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Moriah is a born and raised Oregonian and we're excited to have her join our practice. She will be working alongside Dr. Choate, caring for patients of all ages.

Moriah enjoys spending her off time with her two kids. She also enjoys spending time on the water with her paddle board.

We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our family medicine clinic this April 🤍

My wonderful MA, Kimaya, is leaving us after four years to pursue nursing school. We are beyond proud of her, and she will be so very missed.

I work three long clinic days (not your typical 9–5 schedule), which many people end up loving because it allows for extended time off during the week. There are definite perks to working in a small, patient-centered clinic — close relationships with patients, meaningful teamwork, and a supportive environment.

I also practice aesthetic medicine, which is an added (and very fun) perk for my MA 💉✨

Sita Taibi PA-C has a busy practice and is looking for an MA who is:
• Kind and patient-centered
• Organized and efficient
• Comfortable with both family medicine
• A team player who values a positive work culture and a fast passed practice
