How much exercise does your heart really need?
A recent study of more than 17,000 adults found that the more you move, the more you can reduce your risk of heart disease. In fact, researchers found that people who exercised over 9 hours per week saw some of the greatest heart-health benefits.
Before you panic, here's the good news: you don't need to jump from the couch to 9 hours of exercise overnight.
The most important takeaway is simple: start where you are and keep moving. Experts still recommend aiming for at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week, and every extra walk, workout, bike ride, or fitness class can help improve your heart health.
Don't focus on perfection. Focus on consistency. Your heart will thank you.
