How much exercise does your heart really need?

A recent study of more than 17,000 adults found that the more you move, the more you can reduce your risk of heart disease. In fact, researchers found that people who exercised over 9 hours per week saw some of the greatest heart-health benefits.

Before you panic, here's the good news: you don't need to jump from the couch to 9 hours of exercise overnight.

The most important takeaway is simple: start where you are and keep moving. Experts still recommend aiming for at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week, and every extra walk, workout, bike ride, or fitness class can help improve your heart health.

Don't focus on perfection. Focus on consistency. Your heart will thank you.

Heel pain has a way of starting small.

Then suddenly it’s affecting walks, workouts, vacations, or even getting through the workday comfortably.

Pain that keeps coming back usually means something underneath it needs attention.

The earlier it’s treated, the easier recovery tends to be.

Going barefoot more often during summer can put extra stress on the feet, especially on hard surfaces.

For people dealing with plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or arch pain, barefoot walking may actually make symptoms worse.

Support and recovery matter, even during relaxed summer days.

Summer sports season is here, and growing feet take on a lot this time of year.

Heel pain, ankle injuries, and overuse conditions are common in active kids and teens, especially during growth spurts.

If your child starts limping, avoiding activity, or complaining about pain after sports, it’s worth paying attention early.

One of the first things podiatrists notice is wear patterns on shoes.

Uneven soles, pressure points, worn-down edges. Your shoes often reveal how your body is moving before pain fully shows up.

Foot pain does not always begin where you feel it.

Sometimes the clues have been there the whole time.

Not every sandal is made for all-day wear.

As temperatures warm up, we start seeing more foot pain connected to unsupportive summer shoes. Flat sandals and worn-out flip flops can increase strain on the feet, ankles, and heels.

Comfort matters more than most people realize.

A supportive shoe now can help prevent bigger problems later in the season.
