Clicker Training for horses with anxiety and trust challenges.

We love our volunteer barn buddies and depend on them to train with us, take it slow and breath and to learn with an open mind. Not all horses can be groomed the traditional way, like Chance and Trooper for example. The clicker training not only helps keep them emotionally safe, but our volunteers as well. The more time that passes, the more bonds that form. Both horses have had severe trauma during their past before being rescued and brought into our forever family. Both horses are vital team members here in our therapy & wellness programs. Many times heroes and others with traumatic pasts can relate to them and strong bonds form.

The adventures of Princess the mischievous pony continues…

When Michele came down early this morning there were 3 horses out of stalls (Sequoia - 1st time, Sage-occasional repeat offender and the Mistress of Havoc - Miss P). Knocking over two fans, closing her own stall door so she couldn’t re-enter, moving Troopers hay wheelbarrow so he couldn’t reach it and p**p 💩 galore).
Always an adventure!

The heatwave has really gotten to Princess, cooler temps are on the way girl. 🥶

🇺🇸 $100 sponsors 1 veteran for a 2 hr equine assisted mental health & wellness group session
