Please join us in welcoming our newest members of the Pioneers Medical Center Board of Directors, Dr. Albert Krueger and Danette Coulter!

At our recent Board of Directors meeting, Dr. Krueger and Danette were officially sworn into office by board president, Mark Schryver, and took their oaths of service, marking the beginning of their terms serving the residents of Rio Blanco County and the communities we are privileged to care for.

Board members play a vital role in helping guide the future of Pioneers Medical Center, ensuring we continue to provide high-quality healthcare close to home while remaining focused on the needs of our patients, residents, employees, and community.

We are grateful for Dr. Krueger's and Danette's willingness to serve and share their time, expertise, and leadership. We look forward to working alongside them as we continue to strengthen healthcare services and build a healthy future for our community.

One of the most entertaining days of Hospital Week was definitely "Anything But a Cup" Day!

PMC employees found some truly unique (and hilarious) alternatives to the traditional drinking cup. From household items to unexpected containers, the ideas were all very creative!

While the vessels may have been unconventional, the laughter, teamwork, and camaraderie were exactly what Hospital Week is all about. Moments like these remind us that taking time to have fun together helps strengthen the connections that make our team—and our organization—so special.

During Hospital Week, our team brought the fun with Heroes vs. Villains Day, showing off their creativity, team spirit, and a few legendary costumes along the way. While there may have been a few villains roaming the halls, we all know the real heroes are the dedicated employees who show up every day to care for our patients, residents, and community.

Pioneers Medical Center is offering a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program in Meeker from June 9–July 9, 2026. Tuition is provided at no charge; however, some additional screening, testing, and materials costs apply. This Colorado state-approved program includes classroom instruction, skills labs, and clinical experience, preparing students to sit for the state CNA exam. Classes will be held weekdays at Meeker High School, with clinicals at Pioneers Medical Center. Enrollment is limited to 10 students, and applicants must be age 16 or older. Hospital Week at Pioneers Medical Center was filled with appreciation, laughter, teamwork, and community spirit as we celebrated the incredible employees who make healing happen every day.

From themed dress-up days and shared meals to moments of connection across departments, it was a wonderful reminder that every role at PMC matters and every employee helps make a difference in our community.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Memorial Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Here in Meeker, we are reminded of the strength, patriotism, and close-knit spirit that makes our community so special. We are proud to live in a place where neighbors support one another, flags fly proudly, and the service and sacrifice of our veterans and fallen heroes are never forgotten.

From all of us at Pioneers Medical Center, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families who carry the legacy of those we have lost and to all who have served our nation with courage and honor.

May we all take a moment today to remember, reflect, and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.
