💕🤗Rayna - the sweetest golden with the most sincere hugs!

Rayna started here at 7-months old for some hip stiffness that her mom noticed and because she was pacing sometimes instead of trotting.

Pacing is when the legs on the same side work together for this 2-beat gait instead of the traditional diagonal legs mobilizing together.

She also has itchies from time to time and her homeopathic vet suggested that chiropractic may help with that too! (I love getting to work with all of these souls, let me know doc if you want to be tagged!)

With adjustments as she continued growing, plus we added some strength ideas to their home routine (well done, Mom!), she is pacing less often, frog-lying more symmetrically, and along with homeopathy, having less itchy flare ups!

🌟This girl lights up the room when she enters, with pure joy and heartfelt love.

🐾💫Pivot / Turn on the forehand!

Great for core, hind and forelimb awareness (proprioception), + (most importantly), this one is so fun for the pups! They offer it all the time when the obstacles come out. 😃

We typically get a bit better hind end lateral steps than what the videos show, but we were a bit crunched for space and I was awkward trying to stay out of the video, therefore they are also awkward. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Hopefully this gives y’all the idea though.

✔️Please consult with your veterinarian, rehab specialists or myself (if established or want to get established at WLC) to make sure the exercise is safe for your pup before you try it! I want you all safe and at the lowest risk possible.

🐢Gemma is a 55-year-old Chinese Box Turtle. Isn’t she precious?! 🤩

She started care here at WLC with her exotic veterinarian graces (THANK YOU!) after her mama noticed that her jaw was crooked. She also seemed to have less strength in her hind leg when pushing off, but it was not slowing her down one bit.

It seems that she is more active after her adjustments, still eats like a champ, and continues to be the Adventure Queen she was born to be!

I love seeing so many different species. It makes me head back to the anatomy books and resources prior to their visit, and keeps me a student for learning more and continuously expanding. I’m honored that this WLC family trusts me and chiropractic! 🙏🏼🫶🏼

✨ Huxley is an 8-yo, 3-legged collie that has been at WLC for about 1.5 years now.

He had his left front leg removed because of cancer and due to the significant compensations that we’d expect, his veterinarian suggested chiropractic a month after his surgery! (again, I am SO very lucky to have fabulous veterinarians near me - you know who you are, and let me know if you want to be tagged if you see this!). 🫶🏼

His parents have been extremely diligent with keeping his care routine and have noticed that when he is in alignment, he is more consistently mobile, wants to go for longer walks, and has less hind leg shaking. 🔥

Take one good look into those eyes and you know that he is just the sweetest man! 💕

Half turns are GREAT for hind end proprioception (awareness of where the hind feet are in space and helps the dog know where / how to place them).

There are so many places to do this one, which is why I’ve shown you a few of our favorite places. Get creative!

Picnic benches are a great starting place, but ask your pup to go slow as it is a bit elevated off the ground and we don’t want them slipping off. Also, I always ask them to turn away from the table top so they don’t feel the ‘pressure’ of the table and step too far back / off of the bench.

Another tip - I would never ask them to do 360 deg turns as it puts them at an increased risk of falling off and/or hurting themself if they get going too fast, especially for our high drive dogs. Half turns allows them to check in often enough with you and their body to reduce this risk.

Once you’ve conquered the picnic bench / stable ‘plank’ / bench or box surface, you can make it more challenging with a smaller or narrower surface, like the tire you see here. This is actually an obstacle for the horses, but Tuck loves it!

Once that becomes easy, you can repeat on an unstable surface like the FitPaws bone. This really asks the dog to not only collect, but use their core muscles and joint stabilizers even more.

Happy training!

✨Kaiser was referred here by his veterinarian for help with his IVDD symptoms.

Unfortunately for him, he would have ‘pain attacks’ multiple times an hour throughout the night and sometimes during the day. As we can all imagine, not much rest happening there for him or his parents.

What it looked like for him was that he would jump up out of the blue as if something was biting him, sometimes yelp, and would scramble around before trying to settle again.

Because of his chronic spinal fusion, “traditional” chiropractic was not the right fit. But, with instrument and tonal chiropractic which focuses even more on the neurology since it would not be a sound idea to physically move the bones, he is now able to sleep more regularly!

He gets up a couple to a few times a night/early morning, sometimes still frantically and other times more softly as if he is simply ready to start the day! He has also reduced his pain medications. Way to go, Kaiser!

Toothless is a sassy and sweet kiddo. Think- Ysma from Emperor’s New Groove and you’ve got her personality dialed in. 🦙🪄💜

She is almost 12-years-old now and started here about a year ago. She has a bit of an ‘off gait’ (likely neurologic) in her hind legs that she was born with, but she continues to play and climb her cat tower like any kitty would. She slips on the slick floors, but this improves when she is in better alignment. Her mama moved into the area knowing about animal chiropractic and Toothless had already shown improvement with this therapeutic option in another state so she had her local vet check her out and got established soon thereafter!

Stretchhhhh 🙆

Different variations of a good doggie stretch for y’all to think about /try!

Good for lower core stretch, hip extension, active spinal decompression/positive tension.

Again, in full disclosure, this is not my full time thing. There are professionals much better and putting out better videos than this. If you’d like a resource for training, postures to look for (knowing what’s good/bad), and more in depth steps and ideas, let me know! Happy to share!

“Ohhhh, good stretch!”

Alita has the best mama! She bred Alita’s litter 3years ago and had them all adjusted before they went to their forever homes. She kept Alita and has had her regularly adjusted ever since, because she knows this girl gives her all in everything they do.

Alita does a number of sports and has competed in a few of the local K9 competitions alongside military and police dogs. She is a certified detection dog and may be the pup keeping you safe when getting on a cruise!

We use chiropractic to keep her nervous system and musculoskeletal system healthy!

Bonus, her vet is also pretty amazing 🤩 and totally on board with chiropractic too! 🙌🏼
