It’s so tempting to feel the energy that early labor gives you and want to start cleaning your house or go on a walk but this is the time to conserve your energy for the more intense parts of labor! Rest, hydrate and keep your providers updated.

You owe it to yourself and your baby to do what feels right to you. You may not get the perfect birth you want because birth doesn’t always go according to (our) plan but you CAN surround yourself with people who are dedicated to getting you as close to your dream birth as possible. You deserve peace. You deserve care. Listen to your gut.

Postpartum depression can come at you fast and hard. And on days like today, I actually started hysterically crying halfway through my run. Sometimes it just hits me how much I’ve put my mind and body through over the last 5 years. And getting to the gym and going for a run is something I get to do just for me. And that can be really emotional. I love my kids more than the world but man it feels nice to just zone out on the treadmill and run through some of those awful thoughts.
