We are SO excited to welcome Dr. Kat O'Neill, PT, DPT to the Refined Team.

Kat is committed to helping people regain confidence in the movements and activities they love. She enjoys guiding people in their health journey and helping them discover that they are stronger than they may think.

Kat brings 15 years of Olympic weightlifting experience, competing and coaching at the National level for much of that time. She loves the nuances of technique required and the mental strength the sport builds in people.

Imagine this.

You joined CrossFit a year ago.
You're becoming the healthiest version of you.
You feel better physically and mentally and the benefits of exercise are positively impacting every aspect of your life: your relationship is better, you have more patience with your children.

But then you hurt your back.
You make an appointment with your P*P and they tell you "of course you hurt your back, CrossFit is bad for you."

They give you no guidance on how to stop your back pain AND continue your fitness journey.

You try to push through it but the pain worsens.
You find yourself going to class less and less and ultimately cancel your membership.

Your physical and mental health start to suffer.

All because you didn't have the right provider on your team.

A 2019 study showed half of all adults in the US have some form of cardiovascular disease, with rates projected to increase.

Studies have shown that adults are not getting the recommended amount of physical activity and 110,000 deaths could be prevented annually with just an additional 10 mins of physical activity a day.

That's it. 10 minutes.

When Sarah first came to see us, she was navigating menopause-related pelvic floor concerns and hip pain that were starting to impact how she moved and felt in her workouts.

Sarah has been consistent with barre for years, building a strong foundation, but knew it was time to safely incorporate strength training; especially to support bone health and long-term resilience through menopause.

After a thorough evaluation, we identified her deficits and formulated an individualized plan. She trusted the process, leaned into the plan, and put in the work.

Now, she’s confidently adding weights into her routine, moving with less pain, and feeling stronger 💪

We didn't want to own a business.
Entrepreneurship was never part of our plan.

But we refused to be part of a broken healthcare system.
A system that failed people every single day.

I still remember our conversation, sitting there after just relocating to Massachusetts, knowing we couldn’t stay in the standard PT industry.

“What if we just did it ourselves?”
That was the moment Refined was born.

We didn't know what we were doing.
We just believed people deserved better care and were willing to do whatever it took to give it to them.

No road map.
No back up plan.
No safety net.
Just the two of us, ready to go all in and refusing to fail.

We started mobile—treating people in their homes.
Then a corner of a CrossFit gym. ( 🤍)
Then a private room inside a powerlifting facility. ( 🫶)
Then our first 900 sq ft clinic.

One step at a time.

We hired our first team member.
Then three more of the best clinicians in the country.

And the vision grew-
not just to deliver unparalleled care, but to build a place where exceptional PTs could thrive.

And tomorrow we open the doors to our brand new facility.

A space we’ve envisioned from that first conversation.
A space we've spent countless hours designing and building.

When Erika first came to see us she was dealing with wrist pain for years that had started to impact her performance in the gym.

Erika is an avid CrossFitter who has been very consistent and dedicated with her training, so she knew she needed the right team behind her.

She came in for an evaluation with doc Emily, trusted in the Refined plan, and in just 6 visits is having no wrist pain and PRing her lifts. She was able to rehab her injury and is coming back STRONGER than before.
