The WIld Cypress Working in partnership with Nature to help humans rediscover themselves through

06/05/2026

This fall, The Giving Cypress Foundation and Wild Cypress will host our very first Families in Nature Day Retreat — a first-year pilot program for families with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
Families in Nature was created because we believe children and families need:
🌿 more time outdoors,
🌿more opportunities to slow down,
🌿and more spaces where they can feel connected and supported.
Many Deaf and hard-of-hearing children are often the only one in their mainstream school, neighborhood, or community. This retreat is designed to bring them together — through nature, sign language, Deaf culture, family connection, and shared outdoor experiences.
For me, this is personal.
I know what it feels like to be isolated in the mainstream, and I remember how powerful it was to meet other kids like me at family retreats and camps.
That feeling of connection and belonging is what we hope to create through Families in Nature.
Please share this video with families who have Deaf or hard-of-hearing children, especially those who are the only Deaf child in their schools.

What if the thing you’re longing for isn’t another productivity hack, another app, or another thing to add to your to-do list?

What if what you need is opportunity?

Opportunity to breathe.
Opportunity to learn.
Opportunity to connect, to remember who you are beneath the noise.

We know that investing in yourself can feel vulnerable. A retreat isn’t an impulse purchase. It’s a choice. A commitment to your wellbeing, your growth, and your future.
For many of us in the Deaf and signing community, opportunities like this are rare. To gather in an accessible space. To learn from Deaf facilitators. To be immersed in nature alongside people who understand your lived experience.

The value of this retreat isn’t just in the workshops, meals, or beautiful mountain setting.

It’s in the conversations around the campfire.
The friendships that continue long after the retreat ends.
The moments of clarity beneath the trees.
The feeling of belonging.
The reminder that you don’t have to navigate life alone.

If you’ve been craving connection, healing, community, or simply a chance to reset, we hope you’ll join us.

Invest in yourself.
Invest in community.
Invest in your wellbeing.

Because some things are difficult to put a price on.

🌼 Loving Yourself Is ReWilding Yourself

This past month reminded me that self-love is not always about routines, discipline, or having everything figured out.

Sometimes, loving yourself means becoming untethered, wandering. Traveling 🌎
Taking a break from survival mode.
Letting go of fear, judgment, comparison, and overworking.
Remembering that you belong to yourself first.

Moving from nomad life to homestead life has been a difficult transition. I’ve been trying to build a life in a chaotic economy, survive with a niche business, and find belonging in a hearing, able-bodied world.

But travel reminds me that I am still wild.
Still soft.
Still becoming.

Loving myself is taking breaks from surviving and allowing the journey to lead me back home to myself.

I’m incredibly grateful for the ability to travel, to see beautiful places, to connect with beautiful people, and to remember that life is not only about surviving. Thank you, humans and more than human world for accompanying me on this journey.

Gratitude to the land protectors, Huetar peoples of Costa Rica and Cheyenne, Arapho, and Utes for protecting the land I travel on.

[ID: A carousel of photos from my personal journey: me hugging myself with tenderness, a sketch of my original logo, a peaceful Costa Rica landscape, me at the beach wearing a hat, the red rocks of Colorado, and a candid weary traveler face. Together, these images reflect self-love, wandering, exhaustion, beauty, nature, and the journey of rewilding myself.]

🍂 Why do we retreat?
Because somewhere many of us lost connection to our core. We move too fast. We scroll. We hurry. We forget to pause.

That’s why we re-edited this Retreat video to show little moments of reflection for busy hearts and minds. 🌲
Each member of our retreat team shares about the importance of staying connected to our core. Without the core, the pinecone cannot exist.
……
Without community, we feel alone. ………….
Without nature, we become disconnected and out of balance.

The Holistic Nature Retreat was created from the belief that healing happens when we reconnect—to ourselves, to each other, and to the natural world around us. 💚

✨ One week left of Early Bird Pricing!Registration is currently $900, and after this Friday, pricing increases to $1,000.

🌿✨ My first international Forest Bathing session… in Costa Rica 🇨🇷✨🌿

This experience brought me so much joy. I had the honor of guiding a forest therapy walk in the cloud forests near San Ramón, where we explored the stream of consciousness and co-existing with the wild world.

Together, we wandered into mysterious ravines, followed tiny streams disappearing into the earth, discovered tropical fruits growing from the land (including a beautiful soursop that greeted me while scouting 🌱), and witnessed one of the most breathtaking sunsets I’ve ever seen—pink and orange clouds rolling over the mountains toward the Pacific.

There was something deeply healing about slowing down enough to listen to the land… to let the forest guide the experience.

I also visited two retreat centers which opened my imagination to future possibilities for offering more forest bathing and nature-based experiences internationally 🌎🌿

Feeling incredibly grateful for this chapter, the people I’ve met, and the reminder that nature speaks every language. 🍃
