I had an incredible time at the National Medical Association Annual Convention & Scientific Assembly in Puerto Rico!
It was an honor to join such an accomplished panel to discuss The Composed MD: Executive Presence, Emotional Intelligence, and the Power to Lead. The stories shared, lessons learned, and practical strategies reminded us that while clinical excellence opens doors, emotional intelligence and executive presence often determine how effectively we lead once we’re in the room.
I left encouraged by the thoughtful dialogue around navigating difficult conversations, leading through complexity, and showing up with clarity, composure, credibility, and consistency. Hopefully, our discussion equipped physician leaders with practical tools they can immediately apply in their organizations and communities.
NMA is always one of my favorite meetings of the year—a time of encouragement, community, connection, and inspiration. It was wonderful reconnecting with longtime colleagues, meeting new physician leaders from across the country, and investing in the future of our profession.
Here’s to continuing to lead with purpose, authenticity, and emotional intelligence.
