The Criteria of Emotional Maturity: The ability to deal constructively with reality. The capacity to adapt to change. A relative freedom from symptoms that are produced by tensions and anxieties. The capacity to find more satisfaction in giving than receiving. The capacity to relate to other people in a consistent manner with mutual satisfaction and helpfulness. The capacity to sublimate, to direct one's instinctive hostile energy into creative and constructive outlets. The capacity to love.

“Parental Trauma”

We realize that growing up left a major mark on who we are today and a lot of times we try to deal with that in the most unhealthy ways. Most often we get into it with our parents blaming them or accusing them or trying to hold them accountable for a lot of things that are happening to our lives. As we grow and mature we understand that some of our parents were not equipped with the skills the emotional capacity or the spirit to parent in a healthy and inspirational way. As adults we are learning how to navigate our emotions and reconcile with the people our in live who mean the most to us ! Just know that on your journey to emotional wellness not every parent will be able to except the trauma they caused in your life. We may have to forgive without an apology and move on in a healthy way without them taking accountability. You can still heal your trauma without them actually hearing you out it may take more time and more patience but it can’t be done
