Listen… I get it. Times are extremely heavy right now. We are hearing about massive layoffs almost daily. In Tennessee yesterday, law officials passed a U.S map to carve up a majority black district in Memphis.. a clearly targeted racial agenda. Gas and food prices are skyrocketing, we hear about violence at every turn, and it just seems like there won’t ever be any relief in site anytime soon. It’s all a LOT. And as a provider, some days..I wonder how I’m going to assist my clients with everything they are carrying when I’m wondering when relief is coming just like they are.
But.. there’s also something else happening… Long overdue conversations are finally happening. Conversations related to the high femicide rates. Inequality. Strategizing is happening. New entrepreneurs are developing. People are increasingly DONE with settling… for poor friendships, romantic relationships, corporations that don’t value them, corrupt officials, and outdated systems. And the roar is getting louder and louder.
I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t feel what you’re feeling. Anger, frustration, sadness.. it’s ALL valid. But balance it out by remembering that all the bad you are witnessing isn’t the COMPLETE story. If you were told (on this beautiful spring day) that a snowstorm would be happening in December.. would you spend the ENTIRE time squandering the day by worrying, constantly consuming fear mongering content, and panicking? Or would you walk outside and bask in the sunshine whilst doing what you can in the meantime to prepare? Hug your loved ones? Spend the remaining time something that allows you to appreciate THIS moment.
The dark times are what makes us appreciate the light SO much more. As you witness what’s happening in our world, remember to balance it out by looking at EVERYTHING. Not only what’s highlighted for you to focus on. Control what you can and do what you can to prepare. But PLEASE don’t waste the entire beautiful day you were granted. Because despite the chaos, the sun still shines bright reminding us that hope always exists. ☀️☀️
