Baptist women’s and children’s team members had the privilege of hosting the Girl Scouts to teach about women’s health, assessment, skills, bleeding control, CPR, choking, and so much more. The More than Scrubs Girl Scouts event allows girls to get a more comprehensive look at careers in the healthcare while learning valuable skills. Our hope is that it also familiarizes young girls with their growing and changing bodies, gives them confidence to provide help to others in need, or protect them and others from harm.

It's Nurses Week! Pictured are a few of our Nurse Leaders from: Labor & Delivery, Perinatal Services, Nursing Education, GYN, NICU, and our Pediatric Units.

To all of our nurses who stand at the very heart of care in all of our units- There are moments in life that people remember forever - the cry of their newborn, the steady reassurance before surgery, the comfort in the middle of the night and the calm in a moment of crisis. In each of these moments, you are there. You are steady hands guiding new life into the world, the gentle voices easing anxious parents, the vigilant eyes catching what others might miss or the kindness or creativity that turns fear into comfort.
You bring skill and precision to the most complex situations, but just an importantly, you bring human interaction, kindness and caring. You meet patients and families often times at their most venerable, but you do it with empathy, patience, and an unwavering commitment to care.

What you do cannot be measured in tasks alone or outcomes. It's in the way you listen, stay a little longer, explain a little more, care a little deeper, continuously making others feel valued.

THANK YOU for the passion you bring, even on the hardest days. Thank you for the empathy that never feels routine. Thank you for the countless, often unseen moments that change lives.

YOU ARE THE DIFFERENCE. And we are profoundly grateful for each of you.

Woodland Presbyterian 7th and 8th grade science classes visited our hospital to learn about careers. Leaders, nurses and specialists from our Nicu, radiology, nursing education, child life, pharmacy, social work & case management, pediatrics and prenatal and postpartum departments shared knowledge on the career paths and daily responsibilities in their units. Our CNO toured the students in our NICU Gallery of Hope and concluded their visit with a talk about her career path.

It is our honor to teach and help prepare the next generation of leaders.

Our nurse leaders are kicking off nurses week with our annual support of Shrine School’s field day activities.
