Join us this month as we recognize the first ever Maternal Health Month in Tennessee! Baptist Tipton is committed to supporting safe, healthy outcomes for every mom and baby in our community.

We are proud to be actively working to improve maternal care by:

▶️Partnering with CHAMPS (Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices) to promote evidence-based practices and reduce disparities in maternal and infant outcomes
▶️Focusing on equity in care to ensure every mother receives the support and respect she deserves
▶️Working diligently to lower cesarean section rates for first-time moms through safe, patient-centered approaches

Celebrating Nurses Week at Baptist Memorial Hospital–Tipton
This week, we proudly celebrated Nurses Week and the incredible impact our nurses make every single day. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to excellence are at the heart of everything we do—and we are deeply grateful for the care they provide to our patients and community.
Throughout the week, we had the privilege of honoring our nursing team in meaningful ways. One of the most special moments was our Blessing of the Hands ceremony, recognizing the healing hands that serve our patients with skill and compassion each day.
We were also honored to present two DAISY Awards, recognizing extraordinary nursing excellence:
The Surgery Department received a DAISY Team Award for their outstanding teamwork and dedication to patient care.
Tasha Ballard, RN, was recognized with an Individual DAISY Award for her exceptional compassion and commitment.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients, and thank you to every nurse for the remarkable work you do. You truly embody what it means to care for others.

Wanted to give a special shout-out to our maintenance team for keeping the hospital as clear as possible of snow and ice. They’ve been at it since before the sun rose and will continue throughout the day. They’re committed to making sure our community has access to the hospital.
We’re also very appreciative of the dedicated staff who brave the elements to ensure patients receive the care they need.

Join us in welcoming Kennadi, the first baby born at Baptist Tipton Hospital in 2026!🎉

Fredkedra Mason and Kenneth Gibbs welcomed their baby girl, Kennadi Jade Gibbs, on January 3rd at 3:57 a.m. She was delivered by Dr. Filetti and her team. Both mom and baby are doing well. 💕

This month our hospital had the privilege of completing a site visit for the Child Health and Mortality Prevention and Surveillance Network (CHAMPS) which included a tour of the facility and a roundtable discussion with key stakeholders. We were joined by an incredible group of professionals from nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, anesthesia, surgery, administration, prenatal care, breastfeeding and the local Health Department.

Through a Center for Disease Control (CDC) supported grant, CHAMPS is helping to increase skin-to-skin care after delivery, rooming-in, and breastfeeding to support healthier beginnings for our smallest patients.

Baptist- Tipton has been an active CHAMPS partner for over a year, and while the journey continues, the progress is truly worth celebrating. The hospital has made significant improvements in skin-to-skin and rooming-in practices, and continues to focus on increasing breastfeeding rates.

There is still more work to be done—but with this dedicated team, collaboration, and commitment, we are confident that we will continue moving toward the best possible outcomes for families in our community.
