We're continuing our Stories of Service series by honoring the veterans who call Signature HealthCARE home.

Meet George Spreyne, a resident at Princeton Transitional Care & Assisted Living and a proud United States Army veteran. George served from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War era, spending his military service stationed in Germany as a 15MB Specialist. He honorably attained the rank of Specialist Fifth Class (SP5) while supporting U.S. military operations overseas.

Thank you, George, for your service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country. We are honored to celebrate your story.

For Kirstie Divine, being a Certified Nursing Assistant is about being there when residents need comfort most.

She considers it an honor to care for the people who helped build her community. She says making a difference in even one resident's life makes her work worthwhile. At Riverside Care & Rehabilitation Center, she values the close-knit, family-oriented culture where teamwork is part of everyday care.

We're proud to collaborate with the Frazier History Museum through its Stories in Mind program, which brings Kentucky history into several of our Louisville facilities. Through engaging presentations and storytelling, residents reflect on the past, share memories, and connect with one another through their own life experiences.

At Signature HealthCARE, we're grateful to work with community partners like the Frazier History Museum. Thank you for inspiring conversations that remind us every resident has a story worth sharing.

At 99-years-old, Signature HealthCARE of Ridgely Rehab & Wellness Center Center resident J.D. Mitchell has lived a remarkable life of service.

J.D. is a WWII veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1960, including service in the Philippines and Japan. He then continued serving his country for 30 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

When asked what he hopes to be remembered for, J.D.'s answer says it all: his good moral character, honesty, strong work ethic, and never meeting a stranger.

We're honored that J.D. calls Signature HealthCARE home and to share his story as part of our Stories of Service series celebrating America 250.

Beth shared these photos along with her five-star Google review after her husband's stay at Signature HealthCARE of Terre Haute.

"My husband was a resident of Signature for a few months. He normally didn't participate in games and activities, but the ladies at Signature had a special touch. He joined in and enjoyed himself very much. I can't compliment them enough for everything they did for my husband during his brief stay."

Great care goes beyond meeting clinical needs. It's also about helping residents feel engaged, valued, and connected while they're here.
