Semmes Murphey Foundation is helping connect potential participants with a clinical research study evaluating a new investigational, non-surgical treatment for degenerative disc disease (DDD) of the lower spine.

The Phase III study is evaluating IDCT, an investigational cell-based therapy designed to reduce pain and disability associated with DDD.

If you have experienced chronic low back pain for more than six months, you may qualify to participate.

Dr. Kenan Arnautovic recently served as international faculty for a Skull Base Masterclass in Cremona, Italy.

The four-day cadaver lab brought together internationally recognized neurosurgeons to share advanced surgical approaches to some of the skull base's most complex areas, including the petroclival region, middle cranial fossa, and cavernous sinus.

New technology can expand the possibilities for treating stroke, but every advancement must be carefully evaluated to understand how well it works in clinical practice.

Two studies led by Semmes Murphey physicians Dr. Nitin Goyal and Dr. Ali M. Alawieh examined technologies used during mechanical thrombectomy, a procedure that removes a blood clot and restores blood flow after an ischemic stroke. Their findings add to the evidence guiding treatment decisions while identifying questions that still require further study.
