Two years of Youth Connect. 💙

For two years, we’ve been connecting Shelby County youth to the mental health support they want and deserve.

The numbers matter, but the impact matters even more. Every number represents a young person who reached out, found support, and took a step toward better mental health.

Thank you to every youth, family, therapist, partner, and supporter who has been part of this journey.

Help us continue reaching more youth by liking, sharing, or reposting this post. You never know who may need to see it.

One of our newly added Youth Connect Ambassadors is already shining bright! We’re so happy to have Dr. Hill-Jones as an advocate for youth mental health in our community. Can’t wait to see her continue the great work she’s already been doing.

We're happy to share that Dr. Trudy Hill-Jones from Memphis Shelby County Schools- MSCS is a recipient of our Inspiring Students Award for Educational Support! 🎉 With more than 25 years in education, including 18 years as a dedicated school counselor, Dr. Hill-Jones is known for her advocacy and commitment to student success.

Affectionately called “ya favorite hope dealer,” she champions equity, student voice, and social-emotional learning while working to remove barriers that impact student achievement and well-being. Her leadership has earned statewide and national recognition, including being named Tennessee’s 2025 School Counselor of the Year, along with honors from Forbes Women, the City of Memphis, and National Louis University.

Presented by Byrd & Byrd, Attorneys at Law, PLLC the Inspiring Students Award celebrates outstanding educators who make a profound impact in their classrooms and school communities.

Over the last few months, far too many young people in our community have lost their lives. Some deaths have been sudden, some accidental, and some the result of violence, but every single one has been tragic.

Behind every headline or social media post is a young person connected to family, friends, classmates, teammates, teachers, mentors, and a community now carrying grief that can be hard to put into words. While timelines move on after a few days, many of the people closest to that young person are still trying to make sense of what happened and figure out how to keep going.

If you know a young person who has been impacted by grief or loss, please remind them they do not have to navigate it alone. Youth Connect offers free mental health support for youth ages 13–18 in Shelby County.

Please share Youth Connect with any young person or family who may need support right now. 💙

Doing what we love and loving what we do 🤍

Yesterday, some of the Youth Connect team partnered with to connect with students at MBA. We covered alot, from noticing and emotions to learning how to regulate, support others, and lead.

But more than anything, we listened.

Because too often, young people are not given the space to heard, especially when it comes to mental health. Creating that space matters, and we are committed to continuing to show up for it!
