Hidden in one of our gardens is a piece of Memphis history most people walk right past…
This emblem belongs to the Memphis Typographical Union, chartered in 1852. One of the earliest groups of skilled printers and newspaper craftsmen in the city.
Back then, printing wasn’t just a job… it was a trade you had to master.
Markers like this remind us that every life here had a story, a skill, and a legacy that helped build Memphis into what it is today.
