Exercise of the Month: The “This Looks Way Easier Than It Is” Posture Exercise
Anyone else find themselves sitting at the computer or scrolling on their phone WAY longer than planned… only to realize you’ve slowly folded yourself into some truly crappy posture?
Yep. Me too. Clearly. 😂
This exercise is great for anyone who tends to slouch or let their shoulders roll forward.
Lie on your stomach with your arms straight by your sides and your palms facing down.
1️⃣ Without lifting your head or back, lift your shoulders as high off the floor as you can. Think about pulling your shoulder blades back and together.
2️⃣ Keep your shoulders in that position, then barely lift your hands off the floor—just high enough that someone could slide a piece of paper underneath them.
3️⃣ Hold for 5 seconds, relax, and repeat.
It looks simple, but you’ll quickly feel the muscles between your shoulder blades working against gravity to keep your shoulders from rolling forward.
Because if we’re going to spend time scrolling, we should at least prepare our shoulders for it. 😂
