Connecting the Body & Mind.

📍Located in Mendota, IL. My name is Jen Jackson. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Illinois & a Reiki Master. I have 20 years combined experience in Massage Therapy and Energy work fields. My passion lies in helping my clients find the connection between the Body and the Mind. You, as a person, are more than just the physic

al nature of your being. Trauma and pain lie deep in the cells of your body. Emotional pain translates into physical pain, which can cause aches, pains, depression and dis-ease, to name a few. If this resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you! Each session is customized for your needs. We work together to find the right path for your healing journey. No two sessions will be the same which reflects where you are on any given day you come in. Intuition plays an important role in how I work with each client. I love to "follow the energy" as some of my clients say. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing the positive experiences & changes that occur after a client has been on the table! Massage treatment sessions range from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on your needs. Modalities include Cupping, focused Trigger Point work, Hot Stones, Floating Joint, Craniosacral and Reiki, or energy work. I offer Prenatal massage beginning in the 2nd trimester. I am currently located in Mendota, IL and Amboy, IL.

Sore After Massage?

A little soreness after massage can happen from time to time. But soreness doesn’t always mean the massage was “too deep.”

Sometimes it has more to do with what the body was already carrying going into the session — stress, tension, poor sleep, emotional overload, work demands, life transitions, dehydration, lack of movement, or a nervous system that has been in overdrive.

Massage can bring awareness to areas that have been guarded, tight, or ignored for a long time. Your body may be asking for attention, adjustment, and care.

That said — communication matters.
If you feel unusually sore after a session, please reach out to your massage therapist. Don’t wait until your next appointment or months later. Your feedback helps us adjust pressure, pacing, technique, and treatment goals so your next session supports your body better.

After massage, it can help to:
• Notice what your body is telling you
• Hydrate
• Move gently
• Rest when possible
• Listen to your body
• Communicate with your therapist

Massage is not about forcing the body to release. It’s about listening, responding, and helping the body feel safe enough to soften.

What a month it has been 🤍

This season has felt like a true turning point — full of change, growth, reconnection, and community.

Maria is officially here offering her services inside Essential Wellness Collective, Stacey has stepped in with so much care and presence at the front desk, and I’ve been reflecting a lot as I approach my 10-year anniversary here in Mendota.

With that milestone coming up in July, I’m beginning a year of giving back through 10 Years of Healing • 1 Year Giving Back.

Our first community give-back event will be our mobile blood drive on June 17 from 3–7 PM.
It feels like the perfect way to begin — by creating space for people to show up, give, support, and help someone they may never even meet.

More details will be shared soon, but for now, thank you for being part of this next chapter with us.

There is a lot of good unfolding here. 🤍

10 Years of Healing • 1 Year Giving Back

This July marks my 10-year anniversary as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Mendota, IL.

When I think about that number, I don’t just think about years in business. I think about the people, the stories, the trust, the healing, the hard seasons, and the growth.

Over the past decade, I’ve provided thousands of massage sessions — thousands of hours of hands-on care, listening, learning, problem-solving, holding space, and supporting members of this community.

Massage has never been “just massage” to me. It has been presence, compassion, and a deep respect for what people carry in their bodies.

To honor this milestone, I’m turning 10 years of healing into 1 year of giving back.

We’ll begin with our June 17 community blood drive and continue supporting local causes throughout the year from kids & seniors to Veterans & First Responders and holiday giving.

Thank you for allowing me to do this work for 10 years — whether you’ve been here from the beginning or just recently found your way to my table. I could not do this work without each and every one of you.

Follow along for updates, upcoming causes, and simple ways to get involved. Please share this post, tag someone who may want to participate, and help us spread the word as we turn 10 years of healing into 1 year of giving back. ♥️

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠

At Embody Therapeutic Massage, I truly believe mental and emotional stress don’t just live in the mind — they live in the body too.

Sometimes it shows up as:
• Tight shoulders & neck tension
• Headaches or jaw clenching
• Exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix
• Feeling overstimulated or emotionally “on edge”
• Shallow breathing
• Brain fog
• A nervous system that never feels fully settled

Massage therapy can help create space for the body to soften, regulate, and finally exhale.

This month is a reminder that rest is not laziness. Slowing down is not weakness. Taking care of yourself matters.

You do not have to “earn” rest. 🫶🏼

🫶🏼 As I step into my 10th year as a Licensed Massage Therapist, I’m excited to share a fresh new look for Embody Therapeutic Massage — one that truly reflects the heart of my work and the direction this journey continues to grow.

When I updated my new service menus and specialty session offerings, one thing was very important to me: Keeping my 60 minute Therapeutic Massage session at $75.

In a world where pricing continues to rise everywhere, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on accessibility, sustainability, and the kind of practice I want Embody to be.

While some specialty services and shorter sessions have been adjusted to better reflect time, scheduling flow, and the level of care provided, I intentionally chose to keep the 60 minute session — the heart of my practice — at the same rate.

I believe therapeutic bodywork should still feel accessible for the people who genuinely need it.
Over the past 10 years, Embody has grown into more than “just massage.” My sessions often integrate therapeutic bodywork, nervous system support, Reiki, cupping, reflexology, grounding techniques, and personalized care designed around each individual client.

These new menus reflect:

✨ restorative therapeutic massage
✨ Reiki & energy healing
✨ Prenatal support
✨ Reflexology
✨ intentional healing-centered care

Thank you for continuing to support this small business and trusting me with your care over the years. I’m deeply grateful for this community. 💛
