95 years old, nearly 500 songs, and a lifetime of love for music. 🎹💛

Meet Lou Newman, a resident at StoryPoint Carmel whose piano playing brings a little extra joy to her neighbors every day!

Whether she's welcoming visitors with a familiar tune, accompanying the resident choir, or playing a song that takes someone back to a special moment, Lou knows just how powerful music can be.

“People stop by the piano every day, they say, ‘I was so down this morning, but when I heard your music, it made me happy.’ So, how can you not play?”

We were so fortunate to have the WUWM 89.7 FM - Milwaukee's NPR team visit us to do a program about Bob Reitman's vinyl release show last week. One of the things that makes this community so special is the support from neighbors. Residents bought records and made donations all to benefit the Reitman Radio Camp. The radio camp is a week long program for high schoolers designed to teach them about broadcasting. 🎙️ It's a beautiful way to give back to future generations 🎶

It's always good to find a reason to dress up and hit the town! Residents rode in style in a party bus from Churchill Limousines to see their neighbor, Bob Reitman's show at the Pabst Theater.

Bob has had an incredible career, and while he was on stage, he shared about the music hour he does for his neighbors every month. It's so important that we continue to follow our passions, no matter our age.

What an incredible night celebrating our resident, Bob Reitman! ❤️

On Monday evening, the historic Pabst Theater came alive for 12th House in Twilight, a celebration of Bob's newest spoken-word poetry album, 54 years after the release of his first LP!

The evening brought together music, poetry, dance and performances honoring Bob's decades of influence on Milwaukee's creative community.

And perhaps the best part? The celebration was also an opportunity to give back. Proceeds from the event and album sales will support WUWM and the creation of Reitman Radio Camp, helping local high school students explore the world of audio production.

We're so proud of Bob and the impact he continues to make. What a special night for someone who has given so much to his community!

Today was a beautiful day for apple picking 🍎 We had fun visiting Gierach Orchards and enjoying the beautiful sunshine, visiting their farm animals, and snacking on delicious apples and apple c***r.

Happy Oktoberfest! We've been celebrating with pretzel tosses, b**r tastings, and an armchair travel to Germany! A lot of our residents have traveled to Germany or have German heritage. It makes our Oktoberfest events something to look forward to.
