Don't let a migraine interrupt your holiday! A few simple tips to help prevent a migraine this weekend:
💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day.
🕶️ Wear sunglasses and seek shade if you'll be outside.
🍽️ Don't skip meals.
😴 Get plenty of sleep before and after the festivities.
🎆 If fireworks are a trigger, consider wearing ear protection to reduce sensory overload.
💊 If your provider has recommended a rescue medication, keep it with you.

A little planning can go a long way toward enjoying the holiday. Wishing everyone a safe and healthy 4th of July!

💜 Today is Chronic Migraine Awareness Day.💜

First, let's define what makes migraine chronic. Chronic migraine is diagnosed when it occurs 15 or more days each month. It can make it difficult to work, spend time with family, participate in activities, or simply get through the day.

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Phoebe Nixon, DNP, APNP, AGPCNP-BC, to the Mind+ Neurology team!

Phoebe brings extensive neuroscience and neurology experience to Mind+. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Elmhurst University and began her nursing career in the neuroscience unit at Rush University Medical Center, caring for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions.

She later earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, the highest academic degree in clinical nursing practice. After earning her DNP, Phoebe joined the neurology department at the University of Chicago, where she further developed her expertise in neurological disorders, with a special focus on headache medicine.

Phoebe's strong clinical background, commitment to evidence-based care, and passion for helping patients make her an outstanding addition to our team. We are excited to welcome her to Mind+ Neurology and look forward to the difference she will make for our patients.
